Overview

Lightning casters in Path of Exile 2 usually force a choice: Spark, which spreads damage without demanding precise aim, or Arc, which hits harder and clears better once Scion’s Temper is linked to it. This build refuses the choice. Cast on Crit ties the two together — Spark is self-cast to blanket the screen, and the crits it generates trigger Arc automatically.

Underneath sits an Archmage mana-stacking chassis. Eldritch Battery converts energy shield into mana, Force of Will pushes damage taken from mana before life to the full 100%, and Constant Glimmer keeps Arcane Surge permanently active — which matters enormously here, because Arcane Surge scales mana recovery and Archmage makes every cast expensive.

The creator describes it as the strongest build the channel has produced: bosses dying in roughly two seconds, clear extending several screens in every direction, and 200% delirious full-abyss maps handled without trouble. It is not a cheap build, but mana is the easiest stat in the game to roll, which makes most of the gear craftable rather than purchasable.

• Screen noise from Spark projectiles and Arc chains is considerable

Gear & Anointments

The chassis is built around mana and energy shield, since Eldritch Battery turns one into the other. The helmet wants mana, crit chance and as much energy shield as possible, with an Idol of Ishta socketed for mana cost efficiency. The weapon is a galvanised wand with +5 to level of all Lightning Spells, crit chance and cast speed; the creator’s trick is to buy a wand with finished suffixes, fill the prefixes with Exalted Orbs, then use Celestial Alloy — with prefixes full the item cannot remove a suffix, so the +5 is safe.

Body armour should be a Feathered Raiment base for its damage-taken-from-mana-before-life implicit, with a desecrated suffix of the same stat and a Wisdom rune for another 15%. The amulet is an Absent base carrying either Archmage or Cast on Crit, chaos-spammed for spirit or +3 to all spells, then fractured. Anoint Lightning Rod for 30% chance for lightning damage to be lucky. Gloves want 60% increased effect of socketed augment items via Essence of Horror, with Kiral’s Gaze in the extra socket for Arcane Surge effect.

One Megalomaniac jewel allocating Mental Perseverance is mandatory to reach the 100% damage-taken-from-mana threshold — though the creator notes you can move that notable to the amulet and put Lightning Rod on the jewel instead, whichever is cheaper on the market.

Endgame Notes

The build is designed around 200% delirious full-abyss maps, which is where the chill stacking earns its place: with Spark hitting everything around you, double-chill applies a slow far more reliably than a dedicated slow build manages. Orb of Storms is the answer for pinnacle single-target.
