Overview
The claim behind this build is unusually specific, and the creator tests it on camera: a level 60 tree, level 60 rare gear, level 15-16 gems, four links, no uniques and no jewels — and it still clears tier 15 maps. The point is not peak damage, it is cost efficiency. Nothing in the requirement list is a contested item, which means the build’s entry price cannot be inflated by a streamer popularising it.
Mechanically it charges a large Flame Blast and then uses Oil Grenade’s ignited ground to carry that ignite outward indefinitely, which sidesteps Flame Blast’s cooldown and its awkward ten-stack charging. Ignite magnitude comes overwhelmingly from gem quality, which is why the build is tied to Gemling Legionnaire — the ascendancy’s quality scaling is the damage.
Josiah presents it as a progression ladder: the no-unique level 60 version, a six-divine 225%-rarity variant, a pre-Mageblood Cast on Dodge “zoom” setup, and finally a several-hundred-thousand-EHP endgame build. The core never changes.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuinely functional at level 60 with no uniques, no jewels and random rare gear
- Gear requirements are life, armour and resistances — items that never become expensive
- Scales all the way to the hardest content without abandoning the core skill setup
- Excellent SSF and league-start profile; also a solid fallback if another build gets bricked
- Arctic Armour plus “armour applies to elemental damage” makes tier 15 survivable early
Cons
- The creator admits the starter version is slow until Cast on Dodge is added
- GPU-intensive when overlapping ignited ground; standing still and spamming makes it worse
- Tornado has to be hard-cast for flying monsters, or automated at the risk of disrupting ignites
- You must avoid added fire damage on weapon, gloves and rings or your Oil Grenade ignites break
Key Skills
- Flame Blast — cast once at the start of a map, all damage supports, 20% quality mandatory
- Oil Grenade — spreads the ignited ground that carries the ignite; your main map-traversal action
- Tornado — manual answer to flying monsters, most relevant in Expedition
- Arctic Armour — the survivability pillar, its alt quality granting large increased armour
- Cast on Dodge — added later for speed, and Mana Remnants alongside it for sustain
Gear & Anointments
Life, armour, “armour applies to elemental damage” on as many slots as possible, resistances, and movement speed on boots. Because the build runs Iron Reflexes, the cheapest armour/evasion bases are fine. The weapon target is a +5 or +6 fire spell skill staff with spell damage and added fire as extra. An amulet with +2 (or +1) to all spell skills is enough. Ignite magnitude is the only stat jewels actually need. A Fox Idol is the cheapest source of extra gem quality; Darkness and Throne, Loreweave and Paragon show up in the later variants. The anoint is not stated for the budget version, so confirm it against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The upper variants push into 200% Delirium, ten-remnant Expeditions and solo Grand Spirit Box farming, at roughly 300k+ effective HP and tens of millions of ignite damage. The creator estimates the full endgame version at one to two thousand divines — expensive, but reached from a starter that cost almost nothing.
