[0.5.5] "The Undertaker" - Zombie + Unearth Gemling - Lvl 1 to End Game Guide - PoE 2 Build

Overview

The Undertaker is a minion build built around spamming more than fifty temporary minions at once. It starts from Ghazzy’s Unearth Gemling concept and adds the off-meta Zombie minion on top, using a Cast on Minion Death loop to generate power charges purely from sacrificing your own Skeletal Clerics — which means the horde can be summoned with no corpses on the ground at all.

The damage split is clean: Unearth applies impale stacks, and the zombie horde then extracts them for single-target burst. Supporting Fire does the clearing. Because none of that depends on expensive uniques, the build is presented as a league-start and SSF option that still handles 200% Delirium content.

What sets this entry apart from most build videos is the leveling coverage. A community member recorded a full 1-to-60 run with snapshotted loadouts at each checkpoint, so the guide is genuinely progressive rather than an endgame snapshot.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Complete step-by-step leveling path from level 1 through endgame, with loadouts at each stage
• Corpse-independent: the sacrifice loop generates its own power charges and minions
• Very low budget — the creator’s endgame starting setup ran around seven to ten divines
• Supporting Fire is extremely strong in the level 20-40 range and carries the campaign
• Works in SSF and handles heavily juiced content

Cons

• Three distinct playstyle swaps along the way (crossbow, then minions, then Unearth) to learn
• The Cast on Minion Death and sacrifice loop is more setup than a typical minion build
• Wants as much spirit as possible; more clerics means more sacrifices means more zombies
• The Mageblood-tier comfort version was not finished at the time of recording

• Unearth — physical spell that applies impale stacks and consumes sacrificed clerics
• Zombies — the single-target payload that extracts those impale stacks
• Supporting Fire — the clear engine, from the Tactician’s Unleash Hell node, kept through the swap
• Skeletal Snipers / Skeletal Clerics — mid-campaign clear, later the sacrifice fuel
• Cast on Minion Death + Sacrifice + Profane Ritual — the power-charge loop that sustains the horde
• Arctic Armour — core defensive aura in the endgame version

Gear & Anointments

Level with crossbow skills (Fragmentation Rounds plus Permafrost Bolts) to about level 30, ascend into Tactician for Supporting Fire, swap to minions around 35-36 with a rattling scepter, take Archon of Undeath at 40, then move to Unearth at 60 on a bone wand or any wand granting physical spell skills — finally rerolling to Gemling for the endgame. Prioritise spirit above almost everything else. The minion belt with melee splash is a strong quality-of-life pickup, and Soul Meridian is the named anoint. Powered by Viridium is a luxury, not a requirement.

Endgame Notes

The endgame starting setup targets Eternal Rage and Berserk once spirit allows, with Arctic Armour, Sacrifice and Cast on Minion Death as the non-negotiable core. The Zombie prism is expected to be uncontested and therefore cheap.
