Overview
A budget league-starter Ritualist that bleeds everything it touches while stacking item rarity — a rare combination, since magic-find characters usually sacrifice either damage or survivability to carry the rarity stat. This one does it by leaning entirely on bleed, a physical damage-over-time that scales off weapon damage rather than gear-hungry hit modifiers, leaving affix space free for rarity.
Reave is the main attack, applying heavy bleeds on hit, with Spear Field handling area clear and adding damage on top. The creator is upfront that the planner undersells it: the displayed 55,000 DPS at level 84 is miscalculated because bleed scaling is not represented properly, so real output is considerably higher.
Defensively it is a leech build. Life sits at 3,000 but overleeches to about 4,200, with 25% block from the shield and roughly 47% physical damage reduction from 3,000 armour — the latter helped by converting evasion into armour on the tree. Roughly 30% of physical damage is leeched straight back as life.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuinely budget — the creator built it over a single weekend and calls out the expensive upgrades as optional
- Magic find and damage share the same gear plan rather than competing for slots
- Overleech plus block plus high physical reduction makes it durable for a starter
- Simple passive tree: stack bleed magnitude, skip crit, elemental and poison entirely
Cons
- Damage is over-time, so it does not feel instant against single targets
- Dexterity requirements are awkward — around 160 needed at gem level 20
- The shield slot is dead weight beyond resistances, and dropping it for skill speed needs far better gear
- Several of the best upgrades (the rarity charm, a quality belt roll) sit well past a starter budget
Key Skills
- Reave — main damage, linked with Heavy Swing, Heft, Deep Cuts, Brutality and Ancestral Call
- Spear Field — area clear, linked with Rage, Brutality, Heft and Rearm; a unique support removes its mana cost, which matters because it is spammed
- Blood Hunt — supported with Brutality, Execute, Bleed and Heavy Swing
- Bloodhound’s Mark — Mark for Death, Mark of Sin and Physical Mastery for single-target setup
- Blood Boil — free from the ascendancy, run with Prolonged Duration, Brutality, Physical Mastery and Acrimony
Gear & Anointments
The spear is the most important piece. Physical damage is everything since it drives both hit and bleed; the ideal roll is +3 to melee skills. The creator crafted theirs by collecting magic spears off the ground until one rolled increased physical damage, perfect augmenting it, then using a greater essence of aberration to guarantee flat physical and finishing with greater exalts and a jawbone.
The chest is a unique that enables life leech to overflow past maximum life and grants up to 15% increased maximum life. The belt is Ryslatha’s Coil, where the 40% more maximum physical attack damage roll is the one that matters; the low-minimum variant is better but expensive.
Everywhere else the pattern is identical: life, resistances, and rarity. Amulet takes life, melee skill levels and rarity. Rings are gold bases with life and resistances, ideally with physical attack damage leeched as life and mana. Gloves want life, flat physical and melee skill levels. Boots take 30% movement speed with life and rarity. Charms cover onslaught and stun mitigation, with a freeze-immunity swap available.
Keystones are Crimson Assault for aggravated bleed and Iron Reflexes to convert evasion into armour. The tree stacks magnitude of ailments and magnitude of bleeding, with some melee and attack damage, and avoids crit, elemental and poison nodes entirely.
Endgame Notes
The creator recommends switching to Spear Field once you have bleed on hit available, and using Twister to level through the campaign until then. Auras run entirely off the 100 innate spirit from the campaign, so no spirit is needed on gear — a real budget saving.
