Overview
This Gemling Legionnaire turns Infernal Cry into a one-button, two-screen explosion that also spreads corrupted blood. It is at its best in high-density farming: walk into a big pack, press the warcry and everything in range dies. The build comes online around level 65 with about one divine invested. Budget versions already run 200% delirium maps with any mods.
Damage scales almost entirely through + levels to fire / warcry skills. Stack them on the spear, amulet, shield and Prism of Belief, then buy a level 21 gem at level 90. A unique that lets the cry apply corrupted blood adds bleed on top, and a supporting cry repeats the warcry so the bleed stacks faster. The creator compares a roughly 50–70 divine version with an 800–1,000+ divine one. He prefers a mid-budget setup that was clearly planned around defences over the one that just throws currency at damage.
Defence comes from layers rather than raw life: armour and evasion (partly converted to elemental mitigation), about 50% block from a corrupted buckler plus block runes and Magmatic Barrier, capped elemental resistances and the Eternal Hate unique jewel’s damage-over-time buffer.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- One button, with a huge radius that lets you fight from a safe distance
- Starts cheaply around level 65 with roughly one divine
- Scales straight from + gem levels, so upgrades are easy to read
- Crit immunity from a Gemling node, plus block and layered mitigation
Cons
- Relatively low life pool on paper, so you rely on the layers working together
- Top-end versions cost hundreds of divines
- The Gemling gem-colour balancing asks for filler skills in odd places
- Takes a Vaal-style tree swap that replaces some useful keystones
Key Skills
- Infernal Cry — the one-button AoE warcry that does all the damage
- Corrupted blood via a unique — layers bleed onto every cry
- A repeating cry support — makes the cry fire several times per press
Gear & Anointments
- Stack + levels to fire / warcry skills on the spear, amulet (+5 in the showcased build), shield and Prism of Belief
- A Morior Invictus-style body armour that adds armour, evasion and ES per socket
- A hybrid armour / evasion helmet and gloves
- Eternal Hate jewel: 20% of damage taken is spread over 4 seconds, which the creator strongly recommends for any life build
- Choose the Amanamu faction to unlock Flesh Sacrifice, which recovers a fifth of your life over 4 seconds
Gemling’s Gem-Studded node gives crit immunity when one gem colour leads. If you balance all three colours evenly you unlock all three bonuses: crit immunity, cheaper skills and less movement penalty. Some Virtue nodes reward each equipped skill, so the build slots extra gems purely for those bonuses.
