Overview
This is the creator’s stated final version of the Blood Mage Grim Pillars totem build — the stopping point for players who are not farming forty hours a week toward a Mageblood. At around level 90 it clears fully modified maps, and the video shows Arbiter of Ash, King of the Mist and a Ritual pinnacle fight all going down without much trouble.
The core has not changed since the earlier chapters: Spell Totem plus Ancestral Bond puts four totems on the field at 75 Spirit each, each one spamming Grim Pillars, while you walk around detonating icicles and collecting life remnants. What changes at this tier is the damage sequence. Weapon swap splits the tree into a debuff set and a totem set, so you drop Frost Bomb and Elemental Weakness with the curse-and-exposure passives active, then swap to your staff and place totems that benefit from the already-applied debuffs. That split is where the pinnacle-boss numbers come from.
Blood Mage earns its slot through survivability that requires no active management. Life remnants drop constantly, the ascendancy prevents a quarter of incoming hits from being fatal, and because the totems cast for you, picking remnants up is free uptime rather than lost damage.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Comfortably kills pinnacle bosses and fully modified maps at level 90
- Weapon-swap debuff sequence adds a large damage multiplier for no gear cost
- Life remnants plus the hit-prevention ascendancy node make deaths rare
- Still running largely the same gear from level 60 — upgrades are optional, not gating
- Rakiata’s Flow reduces the whole rotation to a genuine one-button build
Cons
- Effectively unplayable before around level 78
- Visual clarity in boss fights is poor; telegraphs are easy to miss under the ice field
- Cold-resistant enemies noticeably slow the build down
- Fourth and fifth totems are Spirit-gated and need a strong scepter
- Weapon-swap sequencing is extra APM until Rakiata’s Flow replaces it
Key Skills
- Grim Pillars (in Spell Totem) — Urgent Totems, Magnified Area, Efficiency, and Hardy Totems on a perfect Jeweller’s Orb
- Entangle / Spark with Elemental Discharge — the icicle detonator; Entangle is better on large or open-arena bosses where Spark’s projectiles find nothing to bounce off
- Frost Bomb (Potent Exposure) — first step of the boss sequence
- Elemental Weakness (Heightened Curse) — stacked with exposure on the debuff weapon set
- Coalescence + Second Wind (3) + Prolonged Duration — two large recovery charges for pinnacle fights
- Life Remnants / Harmonic Remnants / Remnant Potency — the passive sustain engine
Gear & Anointments
Plus levels to spells on the wand is still the primary damage stat — five levels from the wand plus one from a socketed rune in the creator’s case. Cast speed anywhere it can be rolled, and Spirit until you can afford a fifth totem. A scepter around 160 Spirit runs four totems; 200 opens the fifth. Resistances capped at 75 across the board. Rakiata’s Flow is the transformative unique: it inverts enemy resistances, so a boss at 59% cold resistance sits at negative 59 instead, which is worth dropping a support gem to slot. Scepter choice beyond raw Spirit is unsettled — the creator flags Palm of the Dreamer as untested.
Endgame Notes
The Ritual pinnacle fight shown ends in the second phase at around four million damage. The sequence is the same everywhere: exposure, curse, entangle, totems, then stay clear of the breath attack. Overabundance is suggested as a swap for players with damage to spare, since it raises the totem limit by one.
