Overview
This build turns Conductive Runes — an awkward, weapon-independent Calguran attack skill — into a fast, off-meta endgame farmer that feels like a Diablo II trap assassin dropped into Path of Exile 2. Baseline the skill is clunky: it scatters runes that only detonate when enemies step on them, its damage does not scale from your weapon, and it is boxed into a narrow set of tags (attack, AoE, lightning, duration, hazard). The build’s whole identity is solving those problems so the runes detonate on a timer and hit hard enough to matter.
Two techs make it work. Delayed Reaction forces every rune to explode when it expires instead of on contact, and heavy skill-effect-duration scaling drops that timer to roughly two seconds — fast enough to spam runes continuously without ever bumping the 20-rune cap. For damage, since the weapon itself is irrelevant, the build wields Widowhail with a heavily-rolled quiver: Widowhail amplifies the quiver’s flat attack damage and crit by 250%, effectively stacking two-and-a-half extra quivers’ worth of damage onto the runes. Layered with flat damage from rings and gloves, that is enough to clear all bosses and farm 200% Delirium.
Pathfinder is the chassis of choice — not mandatory, but excellent here. Traveler’s Wisdom nodes hand out over 200% increased damage across travel nodes, the ascendancy’s slow immunity sidesteps a very slow-heavy patch, and the extra mobility suits a kiting playstyle built around waiting for runes to pop. The creator notes the same core copies cleanly onto Ritualist, Titan, Lich, and others.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Off-meta and genuinely fun — a rune-drop, trap-assassin playstyle you rarely see
- Farms 200% Delirium with Abyss and Breach comfortably at endgame
- Extremely mobile (~85% movement speed) and hard to kill despite looking squishy, thanks to Ward and Mind over Matter overflow
- Weapon base is free — the skill needs no specific weapon, so the Widowhail + quiver tech is pure upside
- Core is cheap-ish and clearly copy-pastes onto many ascendancies (Ritualist, Titan, Lich, Shaman, etc.)
Cons
- Weak, delayed-gratification leveling build — it does not come online until maps unlock the instant pops
- Gear-gated: leans on a well-rolled Widowhail (+3/+4 socket) and a crafted crit quiver to hit its damage
- Squishy to big physical one-shots if you stand still — demands active positioning and kiting
- Screen management and the two-second rune delay mean you must play with your brain, not just hold W
Key Skills
- Conductive Runes — the core damage skill; scale to level 21 corrupted, socketed with Delayed Reaction, Compressed/Concentrated area, Overabundance, plus damage supports (Rockiata’s Flow, Garukan’s Resolve when affordable)
- Delayed Reaction (support) — makes runes detonate on expiry instead of on contact; the tech that makes the build consistent
- Blasphemy — Temporal Chains + Feeble — a near-free defensive aura layer that slows packs so runes reliably catch them
- Herald of Thunder / Voltaic Mark — supplementary lightning damage and mark curse pressure
- Berserk (with Eternal Rage) — rage-driven damage boost, sustained via the amulet’s Eternal Rage
Gear & Anointments
The damage engine is Widowhail with a quiver — go for as high a quiver-bonus roll and socket count as your budget allows (+3 socket at max roll beats a +4 at 250% for hardcore min-maxers, but +4 at ~250% is the practical target). The quiver wants three instances of flat added damage (prioritize physical and lightning, cold or fire secondary), a visceral crit base, plus crit chance, crit damage, and Dexterity to feed Traveler’s Wisdom.
Supporting pieces: rings mirroring the quiver’s flat-damage-plus-attributes approach, an amulet with Eternal Rage (saves 100 spirit) plus spirit/attributes/res, an ES vile-robe body armour stacked with Runic Ward and spirit, and crafted gloves with triple gain-damage (AoE-for-attacks is a promising alternative to test). The anoint is Lightning Rod for lucky critical hit chance. Mageblood is optional — without it, Rise of the Phoenix-style flasks or a Coil work fine. Tecrod’s Gaze (via a socketed rune) is effectively mandatory to keep Berserk’s life regen from bleeding you out. Specific unique and crafted-jewel rolls should be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The build is designed around endgame juicing: level ~96 Delirium farming at 200% with Abyss and Breach, one-shotting bosses once Rockiata’s Flow and Garukan’s Resolve come online. For single-target, Concentrated Area clumps the runes for cleaner boss damage. The creator flags AoE-maxing variants (Abyssal Lich, Titan) as an unexplored direction worth trying for bigger pops.
