Overview
This is a campaign-focused Ice Nova Chronomancer leveling build designed to take a fresh Sorceress through the Return of the Ancients league start in a single night. It opens with Spark for early single-target, layers in Frost Bomb to apply Elemental Exposure and generate Cold Infusions, then transitions into Ice Nova as the area-clearing backbone once those infusions empower it.
The combo loop is simple but effective: drag packs together, drop Frost Bomb to infuse, and detonate with a massively boosted Ice Nova. Frost Darts steps in as the dedicated single-target tool against bosses, consuming Cold Infusions for burst. The Chronomancer ascendancy adds Quicksand Hourglass (Sands of Time) for extra area and skill speed, plus Inevitable Agony for a satisfying stored-damage pop that finishes bosses.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Built specifically to breeze through the campaign on a brand-new character
- Smooth skill progression — Spark → Frost Bomb → Ice Nova → Frost Darts
- Cold Infusion combo gives big AoE and strong boss burst
- Werewolf weapon-swap option (talisman) for faster dodge-roll mobility
- Leverages the league mechanic’s preview-rewards to grab gems and currency safely
Cons
- Primarily a leveling / campaign guide — endgame scaling is out of scope here
- Combo reliance (Frost Bomb before Ice Nova) takes some rhythm
- Small-arena boss tactics (corner-trapping for Spark bounces) won’t always be available
Key Skills
- Ice Nova — main AoE clear, supercharged when cold-infused
- Frost Bomb — applies Elemental Exposure and generates Cold Infusions
- Spark — early single-target, bounces off walls in tight arenas
- Frost Darts — dedicated boss-killer that consumes Cold Infusions
- Astral Projection — optional Act 3 support for a safer ranged playstyle
Gear & Anointments
As a league-start leveling build, it leans on skill mechanics over specific items. Pick up a talisman for the second weapon set to access Werewolf form for mobility. Allocate area-of-effect nodes on the passive tree to make Ice Nova explosions blanket the screen, and take the first trial of the Sekhemas around level 38 in Act 2 to ascend. Specific gear targets to be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator frames this explicitly as a campaign / day-one build and points to a separate rating guide for full details, rather than covering pinnacle endgame here.
