Overview
Galvanic Shards 2.0 is a crossbow Witchhunter that splits its work across two weapon sets: Galvanic Shards for clear and Stormblast Bolts for single target. The update improves clear speed, boss damage and survivability over the creator’s first version, and it is shown handling all content including 200% Delirium.
Defense revolves around Sorcery Ward, which Wind Dancer feeds through evasion, while Eternal Rage keeps the character at maximum rage for a large more-damage multiplier. Weapon set one uses Rakiata’s Flow, so that set deliberately runs zero penetration — penetration would shrink the resistance that Rakiata’s inverts. Weapon set two (Galvanic Shards) does take penetration.
Bolts are stacked on a target and then detonated automatically: a dodge roll triggers Mirage Archer, which fires a detonator skill (Explosive Shot or Explosive Grenade) to pop the Stormblast Bolts. Herald of Ash and Herald of Thunder with armour explosions handle the rest of the clear.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Excellent map clear with Galvanic Shards, two Heralds and armour explosions
- Strong single target via stacked Stormblast Bolts detonated by Mirage Archer
- Handles all content including 200% Delirium
- Relatively low investment outside of Mageblood
Cons
- Galvanic Shards needs notable investment before it feels good
- Two weapon sets with opposite penetration rules — easy to misconfigure
- Trinity requires balancing fire/cold/lightning carefully or damage drops
- Armour explosions only start after killing a rare each map (Rite of Passage buff)
Key Skills
- Galvanic Shards — main clear, with spin and fork supports, boosted by Rigwald’s in weapon set two
- Stormblast Bolts — single target; run a 21/0 gem because quality adds penetration
- Mirage Archer + Explosive Shot/Grenade — automatically detonates bolts after a dodge roll
- Herald of Thunder / Herald of Ash — extra clear; Herald of Thunder also carries armour explosion
- Eternal Rage, Wind Dancer, Trinity — rage multiplier, evasion for Sorcery Ward, balanced elemental bonus
Gear & Anointments
- Crossbow: high elemental damage, increased elemental attack damage, + skill levels, ideally Onslaught
- Rings/Amulet: double damage for attacks, rarity, resistances; an amulet granting Eternal Rage frees 100 spirit for more auras
- Helmet: Alpha’s Howl for spirit
- Gloves: Painter’s Servant to enable Trinity — only as much gain-as-cold as needed to keep elements balanced
- Belt: Mageblood (Jade, Silver, Gold, Quicksilver)
- Rite of Passage: Spirit of the Wolf for armour break, which powers the armour explosions
- Jewels: From Nothing with Ancestral Bond (cheap partial Rakiata’s effect for Galvanic Shards), Heart of the Well, Against the Darkness for extra fire
