Overview

Ice Shot Deadeye is a straightforward cold-conversion bow build that leans on freeze as a defensive layer — a frozen enemy can’t move, so it can’t threaten you. That lets you carefully time burst windows or keep attacking without panic, making it an approachable build that is comfortable as a league starter yet scales well with investment.

Deadeye is the natural home for it thanks to Mirage Deadeye, Tailwind, Point Blank and Endless Munitions, which together lift damage, clear speed, evasion and mobility. The result is some of the best clear speed in the game: Herald of Ice shatters frozen packs at long range while high move speed keeps you flowing through maps. Boss damage is solid through Snipe, which deals bonus damage to frozen targets.

Mechanically it stays simple — for most mapping you can hold Ice Shot alone, layering Snipe and Freezing Mark only for tougher fights. It favours rare items over uniques, so it is easy to gear up and improve piece by piece.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Excellent clear speed via Herald of Ice shatters and long range
  • Freeze doubles as a strong defensive layer against most content
  • Simple to pilot — largely a one-skill mapping playstyle
  • Gears mostly off rare items, making it a friendly league starter

Cons

  • Mana sustain against pinnacle bosses needs deliberate investment
  • Top-end DPS requires an expensive, well-rolled bow
  • Survivability can feel thin before energy-shield layering and good evasion come online
  • Snipe must be timed correctly on frozen targets or its damage drops off

Key Skills

  • Ice Shot — main attack and freeze applier; link with Ice Bite, Fork, Elemental Armament, Rapid Attacks, Cold Attunement
  • Herald of Ice — clear engine that shatters frozen enemies on kill
  • Snipe — timed single-target burst against frozen bosses
  • Freezing Mark — freezes tough enemies faster and grants extra cold damage
  • Mirage Deadeye / Mirage Archer — duplicate your Ice Shot for extra coverage

Gear & Anointments

The build prefers rare items, with Cadiero’s Gambit a strong mapping quiver and Headhunter or Hyrri’s Ire as optional power spikes. Prioritise critical-hit mods and projectile skill levels over raw attack speed (your damage hinges on Snipe). Seek cold penetration where you lack Rakiata’s Flow, and add life or mana on kill to fix sustain. Defensively the build relies on evasion and deflection rating, with Subterfuge Mask and Spectral Ward converting energy shield/evasion into extra layers; a chest approaching 3,000 evasion is the goal. Specific rolls should be confirmed against the source video.

Endgame Notes

Against pinnacle bosses, swap Fork for Freeze on Ice Shot and lean on Freezing Mark. Late game you can supplement evasion with energy shield via tree notables and swap Wind Dancer for Ghost Dance. The crit and ES passives sit near the Monk start, so allocate them later rather than first.
