Overview
This is Fubgun’s 0.5 take on the Ranger Deadeye Ice Shot / Ice Snipe archetype — a cold-conversion bow build that turns every fired arrow into shatter pressure and parks the heaviest damage on a hand-aimed Ice Snipe finisher. Ice Shot picked up substantial buffs in 0.4 (more secondary projectiles, more cold conversion, more chill magnitude) and most of that scaling carried into 0.5 effectively unchanged. Ice Snipe took a low-level damage nerf but actually gained damage at gem level 20+, which is exactly where the endgame combo lands.
The play loop is straightforward: freeze the target with Ice Shot (Ice Bite scaling the cold damage), drop Tornado Shot for extra hits, then unload a perfect-timed Snipe with Barrage into the frozen mob to consume the freeze for Icy Blast. A weapon-swap mark setup loads Freezing Mark on set two and routes the marks-only passive cluster behind it, nearly doubling single-target damage on demand.

- Top-tier league starter — one-shotting quest-version pinnacle bosses on roughly five-divine gear
- Tornado Shot + Ice Shot map clear is fast and freezes whole packs by default
- Permanent chill is a real defensive layer on top of evasion and energy shield
- Two-button core loop once gear catches up — friendly to players who do not want to piano
- Held-Up Ice into Armor Explosion mapping chain went unnerfed and remains absurd
Cons
- Perfect-timed Snipe needs five to ten minutes of hideout practice to feel natural
- Early life-evasion phase still feels squishy until the energy-shield / evasion hybrid swap
- Day-one bow crafting is harder post 0.5 crafting nerfs — expect to hand-craft a flat physical + cold base

Gear & Anointments
The headline upgrade is a self-crafted bow with flat physical and cold plus percent physical, with one essence slot landing the plus-skills mod. Expect two to three divines on day one — alt-spam a white base for flats then essence. Quivers want the standard cooldown / attack-speed prefix pool. The build is pure life-evasion until you have a 400+ ES helmet and 115 intelligence, then it swaps to a hybrid ES / evasion helmet plus hybrid boots and the build feels twice as tanky overnight.
Endgame Notes
Beasthood Skin off the deflection cluster benefits heavily from the 0.5 evasion buffs to chest bases. The Held-Up Ice / Armor Explosion infinite-chain map setup remains live in 0.5 and is what carries clear speed into juiced maps. Gathering Winds plus Tailwind keep skill-speed, movement, and defensive deflection scaled together.
