Overview

This is the day-one setup for a Spirit Walker companion zoo, recorded during the Forbidden Ritual event league and priced deliberately low — the creator puts the whole kit inside one to two divine and says a single divine is genuinely enough. It is the cheap on-ramp to the same archetype the creator later upgrades into a high-end crit-stacked version.

The design philosophy is that almost nothing in the list is a hard requirement. The amulet’s minion skill level roll can be level 1 and tier 15 alch-and-go maps still work. The main damage beast can be level 18 instead of 19. The chest can be a 1,000 evasion rare rather than the 2,000 one that costs real money. What the creator does insist on is runes: Verisium runes in every socket push runic ward to 441, which acts as a buffer that absorbs a hit after life and shield are gone.

Survivability comes from deflection rather than raw defences. With the deflection clusters taken, the character sits near 96% deflection chance — effectively permanent — which alongside evasion is what keeps the death count manageable at level 89.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Total cost of one to two divine and still clears tier 15 alch-and-go comfortably
  • Cheap weapon path: a common spear base rune-upgraded twice, targeting raw physical damage
  • Near-permanent deflection uptime from tree clusters alone, no gear investment
  • Reaches pinnacle-tier boss kills on the third ascendancy — the fourth is not needed

Cons

  • Dies if you outrun your companions; the creator is blunt that running ahead alone is how you die
  • Attack speed on the weapon is wasted stat since the character never attacks itself — only physical damage matters
  • Idols get expensive fast, which is the main reason the fourth ascendancy is skipped early
  • Damage ceiling is modest until the unique sceptre upgrade arrives

Key Skills

  • Wild Protector — the ascendancy bear spirit, run with rapid attacks, coordination and the hulking minion support (which costs no extra spirit here)
  • Tamed rare beast — the main damage carrier, level 18-19; the 6-link is a later upgrade and four sockets clear tier 15 fine
  • Boar companion — taken for its haste aura; a shock-on-all-damage roll is a nice bonus but not worth hunting
  • Skeletal clerics (two) — keep companion life topped up, boost the rally effect, and fire offerings worth 29% attack speed and 58% minion damage before bosses
  • Marks — habitually applied before bosses, since the unique sceptre upgrade later scales companion damage against marked targets

Gear & Anointments

The weapon is the budget centrepiece: a common spear base upgraded twice through rune mastery. The first upgrade needs Verisium, the second adds a sigil; the creator prices the whole thing near one exalted. Shop for a base near 200 physical damage, push quality to 20, and open sockets before any corruption attempt. Ignore attack speed entirely.

Everything else is filler chosen to patch resistances. Amulet: +1 to +3 minion skill levels, then whatever resistance and life you are missing. Helmet: +2 minion levels and high life, under 10 exalted. Chest: 1,000+ evasion with a missing resistance; a matching deflection rating is nice but not worth paying for. Rings, gloves, belt and boots are pure life plus missing resistance, with movement speed on the boots. Buy Verisium in bulk and rune every socket.

On the passive tree, the third ascendancy is enough. Take movement speed, dexterity, the companion cluster, then invest the rest into deflection. Two specific nodes — the hollow one’s first principle and the protector’s first teaching — unlock a hidden node between them that is invisible until both are allocated; it grants curse effect reduction and ailment mitigation, which makes temporal chains maps far more comfortable.

Endgame Notes

The creator killed pinnacle-tier bosses on this setup before upgrading, and notes divine orbs are dropping unusually well this league — eight divine on day one alongside 85 exalted. The follow-up is the unique sceptre conversion, which changes no passive nodes at all: swap the weapon, drop wind dancer, keep the marks up.
