Overview

This Gemling Legionnaire splits its job between two very different damage engines. Clearing runs through Infernal Cry, but the real damage is not fire at all: supporting the cry with the Pacquati’s Pact lineage gem makes it apply five stacks of Corrupted Blood, a physical damage over time. Gemling’s alternate quality on Infernal Cry gives it an enormous radius, and Echoing Cry repeats the cry automatically, so the loop is simply one button press followed by dodging around while everything nearby dies.

Single target comes from Flame Blast on weapon swap. Gemling’s quality bonus on Flame Blast adds an enormous more multiplier, so even without full investment it deletes bosses. The passive tree uses weapon-set passives to be a physical war cry build on one set and an ignite caster on the other, picking up fire clusters that sit on the natural path.

The key scaling stat for the clear is gem level: Pacquati’s Pact copies Infernal Cry’s level, and each level is a large multiplicative gain. Level 40 is the goal and 37 the practical minimum, so this is a transition build rather than a league starter.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No aiming and very few button presses — a relaxed, low-maintenance playstyle
  • Excellent clear speed with very clean visuals
  • Strong single target from Flame Blast
  • Very tanky: Arctic Armor’s Gemling quality roughly doubles armour, plus block from Magma Barrier

Cons

  • Not a league starter; needs many plus-level items before it comes online
  • Flame Blast has a cooldown, so waves of tanky rares are awkward
  • Weak in heavily juiced Grand Expeditions and hard Delirium / wisp strategies
  • Very spirit-hungry; expensive body armour and jewels

Key Skills

  • Infernal Cry + Pacquati’s Pact — Corrupted Blood clear, with Echoing Cry, Brutality, Swift Affliction and Fire Mastery
  • Flame Blast — boss killer with ignite supports, Controlled Destruction and Concentrated Area
  • Blood Hunt — consumes blood loss on rares and applies aggravated ignite for Flame Blast
  • Elemental Weakness — curse dropped before each boss
  • Arctic Armor / Magma Barrier / Cast on Dodge — Gemling-quality auras for armour, block and dodge distance

Gear & Anointments

Nearly every slot contributes skill levels: a Fireflower amulet (quality then corrupt for +6), a Saitha’s spear with two soul-core sockets and a Sunsplinter offhand, a +3 Prism of Belief (the biggest cost), a Sacrificial Regalia with the corrupted-gem level implicit, and a staff for the Flame Blast set with fire and spell damage plus ignite magnitude. A Collapsing Horizon is the budget offhand but loses block and aggravated ignite.

  • Boots: Decree of Flight for movement
  • Helmet: war cry damage and life on war cry; Crown of the Victor is the super-budget pick
  • Jewels: damage with war cries plus global physical damage, boosted by increased effect of prefixes
  • Charms: Legacy of Quicks is mandatory; Bismuth for resistances

Endgame Notes

Poor at juiced Grand Expeditions and stacked Delirium where monsters gain layered damage reduction; standard mapping and bossing are comfortable. Level with another build (the creator suggests Pillar of the Caged God) and respec after level 65 when Pacquati’s Pact is available.
