Overview
This minion build exploits the additional quality effects that Gemling Legionnaire unlocks on minion skill gems. Two stand out: Raging Spirits gain more damage from quality, and minions from Unearth gain more attack speed — multiplicative bonuses rather than the usual increased modifiers. The build is designed around those two skills, with a wide supporting army of Wolf Pack, skeletal Snipers, Clerics, Storm Mages and a Frost Mage.
The creator demonstrates it running a fully modded T16 map with three tablets while deliberately unsummoning most of the army and keeping around 315 spirit unreserved, and states that pinnacle bosses die in seconds even without Unearth minions or curses. Rage is fed to the minions through the Commanding Rage notable, using Hateforge gloves to generate it.
The main caveat is budget: it is hard to play cheaply, but the creator says it becomes very strong with a medium investment. Cheaper alternatives are given for most slots.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Multiplicative quality bonuses on Raging Spirit and Unearth scale extremely well
- Pinnacle bosses fall quickly, even without curses or offerings
- Handles fully modded T16 maps, with minion movement speed for fast clear
- Budget substitutions offered for almost every gear slot
Cons
- Hard to play on a low budget; best-in-slot pieces (high minion-level amulet, +minion belt) are expensive
- Many minion types and links to set up
- The creator is unsure whether Hateforge is best-in-slot and runs short on cast speed
Key Skills
- Raging Spirit — core damage, boosted by more damage from Gemling quality, linked with Rage and Feeding Frenzy
- Unearth — bone minions with more attack speed from quality
- Wolf Pack — supported with Minion Mastery, Rapid Attacks and Rage
- Skeletal Clerics / Storm Mages / Snipers — sustain, shock and ranged support
- Flame Wall — utility spell run with Arcane Surge
Gear & Anointments
- Sceptre: +4 to minion skills and spirit (drop spirit for a budget version)
- Focus / Helmet: +2 minion skills, energy shield, resistances; hybrid armour/ES is the creator’s preference
- Body armour: high energy shield with spirit and reservation efficiency
- Rings / Jewels: minion damage, minion critical chance and critical damage bonus; cast speed helps summon Raging Spirits faster
- Amulet: +minion skill levels, spirit and skill quality
- Belt: “Minion strikes have melee splash” is the key mod
- Jewels include Prism of Belief (Raging Spirit) and Split Personality
The passive tree starts from the Druid side for hybrid armour/ES (or the Sorceress side for pure ES), taking minion damage, minion movement speed, Commanding Rage, spirit and Living Death.
