Overview
This Shield Wall Titan is built on a simple premise: rather than racing to one-tap bosses, you stack so much armour that you simply stand still and tank them. The creator pushes effective armour into the 70,000–80,000 range — and close to 90,000 against elemental damage thanks to widespread “armour also applies to elemental damage” rolls — turning most of the game’s incoming damage into a non-issue.
Offence is handled separately from defence. Shield Wall and Fortifying Cry provide the direct hits, while clear comes from a Herald of Blood bleed-and-poison explosion package that chains through packs. Because the build runs Blood Magic, there is no mana to manage; a small life-on-kill source plus Recoup keeps the bar topped. Brass Dome makes you crit-immune, Polished Iron trivializes stun, and Utopia doubles armour when you do get knocked down.
It is a forgiving, defence-first build — ideal for newer or slower-handed players who would rather out-tank a fight than dodge it.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Enormous effective armour (70k+, ~90k vs elemental) trivializes most incoming damage
- Crit-immune via Brass Dome and effectively stun-proof via Polished Iron
- Blood Magic removes all mana management
- Forgiving and low-APM — drop a shield and alternate war cries
- Doubles as a league starter, with a leveling guide provided
Cons
- Bossing is slow — roughly 15–20 seconds and several shield casts per boss, not a one-tap
- Chaos damage and damage-over-time are the main remaining threats
- Brass Dome costs −1% max elemental resistance, capping you slightly under 75%
- Damage ceiling is modest compared to dedicated DPS builds
Key Skills
- Shield Wall — the core attack and damage source off your shield’s armour value
- Fortifying Cry — the build’s main damage cry, scaling off broken-armour and bleeding enemies
- Herald of Blood (+ Bursting Plague, Poison) — bleed/poison explosion engine for AoE clear
- Infernal Cry / Fortifying Cry rotation — constant cry uptime for buffs, armour, and recovery
- Resonating Shield — generates rage and applies bleed to start the chain
Gear & Anointments
Defence-stacked rares with “armour also applies to elemental damage,” anchored by a Brass Dome chest (crit immunity), a high-armour shield (the main Shield Wall damage scalar), and a plus-melee mace with life-on-kill. Gloves supply the build’s leech for Blood Magic. Notable lineages are cheap — Rocksmelt and Atziri’s Bloodletting for extra blood-magic damage — with Scavenger Plating sustaining armour through armour break. Specific rolls to be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator has cleared Arbiter of Ash and the Divinity encounter by face-tanking, and notes the build trivializes general endgame content. Future iterations target higher-armour shields (up to ~1,800) and Runic Wood experimentation for more damage without sacrificing the tank core.
