Overview

This Witch build fields a full minion army — Skeletal Warriors, Reavers, Snipers, Stormmages, Frost Mages and Clerics, a pair of spectre Zealots and an Infernal Hound — and lets it do nearly all of the work while the player walks the map. The damage core is the spectre Power Zealot, with every other minion type feeding the Master support so that each added body makes the rest of the army hit harder.

The character itself is built as an energy shield caster: minion clusters on the passive tree for damage, life and speed, then a long route through energy shield and spirit so the army can keep growing. Infernalist is the recommended ascendancy for its Hellhound and the life/ES-to-spirit reservation nodes, though Lich and Oracle versions follow the same plan.

It is pitched as a low-cost setup with simple gameplay and room for over 150% item rarity, making it a comfortable mapping character that still has a proper boss rotation built around Sigil of Power from a weapon-swap staff.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Very simple gameplay — keep Pain Offering up, curse priority targets, walk forward
  • Cheap core; expensive jewels are upgrades rather than requirements
  • Large rarity headroom while still clearing smoothly
  • Defensive energy shield character that stays out of melee range
  • Strong single-target window from Sigil of Power plus Pain Offering

Cons

  • Lots of gem sockets and minion types to set up and level
  • Needs heavy spirit investment before the army is complete
  • Curse choice changes once Rakiata’s Flow is socketed — lowering resistances then costs damage
  • Best-in-slot boots may force giving up movement speed or resistances

Key Skills

  • Spectre: Power Zealot — main damage source; Pierce and Projectile Acceleration for clear
  • Pain Offering — core army buff, keep it active at all times
  • Skeletal army (Warriors, Reavers, Snipers, Stormmages, Clerics) — extra bodies that scale Master support, add shock and protection
  • Summon Infernal Hound — additional minion type granted through Infernalist
  • Sigil of Power — cast from a Chiming Staff on weapon swap before bosses
  • Despair / Elemental Weakness + Frost Bomb — curses for tough targets (Despair after Rakiata’s Flow)

Gear & Anointments

  • Main hand: Rattling Sceptre with spirit, minion damage, +levels to minion skills and minion cast speed
  • Off hand: Focus with energy shield, +minion skill levels and resistances
  • Weapon set 2: Chiming Staff with +spell skill levels and cast speed for Sigil of Power
  • Body armour: spirit + energy shield; helmet, gloves and amulet add ES, minion levels, resistances and attributes
  • Uniques: Rakiata’s Flow, Darkness Enthroned; best-in-slot unique boots for more minions; Ventor’s Gamble or rare rings
  • Amulet instil: Essence Infusion to start, Warlord Leader as the premium option
  • Jewels: increased maximum ES, minion damage and speed; Prism of Belief, Heart of the Well or Megalomaniac as late upgrades

Cap elemental resistances first, then push chaos resistance.

Endgame Notes

For bosses, drop Sigil of Power from the staff swap, apply the curse, keep Pain Offering up and let the army fight inside the circle. With power charges from Pain Offering, summon empowered Wraith zombies for extra burst. Convalescence is the emergency button when energy shield drops sharply.
