Overview
This build turns a Stormweaver Sorceress into a self-triggering elemental storm. Instead of standing still to line up a big nuke, it floods the screen with Spark projectiles and Orb of Storms hits, then lets a Cast on Critical engine rain Comets down automatically. Every crit produces another Comet, so the more hits you generate, the harder the build punches — which is exactly why it feels stronger the busier the fight gets.
The design leans into 0.5’s faster, more chaotic boss encounters. In light content the Spark and Orb of Storms clear packs on their own, so mapping stays smooth. When maps get juiced or a pinnacle boss appears, the Cast on Critical Comet loop spins up: more hits mean more crits, more crits mean more Comets, and the target is deleted before it can act. Crucially, the setup scales Spark, Orb of Storms, and the fire-infused Comet at the same time rather than relying on a single skill.
Elemental Equilibrium ties the whole engine together — Orb of Storms seeds cold infusions for Spark while Frost Bomb seeds fire infusions for the Comet, letting the build cycle cold and fire windows without an awkward extra button.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Auto-targeting Cast on Critical means bosses melt without manual aiming
- Scales seamlessly from smooth mapping to pinnacle boss destruction
- Constant freeze and shock uptime for strong defensive control
- Multiple damage sources (Spark, Orb of Storms, Comet) all scale together
- Gets stronger as content gets denser and more dangerous
Cons
- Button-heavy setup for bosses (Sigil of Power, curses, Frost Bomb, Mana Tempest)
- Gear-gated: needs crit-lock gloves, Call of the Brotherhood, and heavy spirit investment
- Requires understanding the elemental-infusion mechanic to get full value
- Not a fresh-league starter — it needs its unique pieces to come online
Key Skills
- Spark — main spam skill; primary clear and the hit generator that feeds Cast on Critical
- Orb of Storms — dropped in clusters so Spark passing through multiplies hits across the screen
- Cast on Critical + Comet — the boss-deleting payload triggered by the crit hit count
- Frost Bomb / Elemental Storm — exposure and fire-infusion utility for scaling the Comet
- Mana Tempest + Sigil of Power — burst-window buttons for dangerous packs and boss phases
Gear & Anointments
The build wants a spell-crit, energy-shield foundation. The most important unique is a pair of crit-damage-locking gloves (the creator names Malachai’s Artistry) — locking the crit-damage bonus lets you abuse Pinpoint Critical and other crit-chance-for-less-crit-damage trades, since the downside no longer matters. Call of the Brotherhood is core, converting lightning into cold so Spark and Orb of Storms benefit from the cold-infusion setup.
- Staff: your biggest rare damage slot — added-as-extra damage, increased/added spell and cold damage, +levels to all spell skills, and cast speed
- Spirit: aim for around 180 total to cover Cast on Critical, Mana Remnants, Staff & Elements, and Convalescence
- Body armour and helmet: your largest energy-shield pieces; belt starts as a resistance fixer
- Passive priorities: spell crit chance, elemental and exposure scaling, plus enough ES and mana sustain to survive
Specific unique names should be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The boss routine is a setup sequence: pre-place Sigil of Power and Elemental Weakness before the boss is targetable, use Frost Bomb for exposure, drop Orb of Storms, start casting Spark, and let Cast on Critical do the rest. Time Mana Tempest to your burst phase so Comets land during your strongest damage window. Camouflage is the panic button for repositioning when your energy shield gets chunked.
