Overview
This build turns Perfect Strike into a genuine one-button melee skill on the Gemling Legionnaire. Normally Perfect Strike is a channelled attack that only rewards a perfectly-timed release, but the Gemling Legionnaire’s alternate-quality bonus stacks a separate “more attack speed” multiplier on top of the skill, letting you land the full-power perfect hit by simply tapping the button once per swing. The result is a true mace melee build that deals roughly 1,700% weapon damage on every strike while you essentially turn your brain off.
The engine runs on global skill quality. Six percent comes from the ascendancy itself, with the rest layered on through a Darkness Enthroned belt (counting as body armour) holding a Fox idol, the hidden Paragon notable instilled on the amulet, and supporting nodes — all funneled into Advanced Techniques so the quality converts into the attack-speed window you need. The build strength-stacks around the new Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler mace, which passively fires Molten Shower projectiles to feed projectile-conditional supports.
Defensively it leans on armour (around 14k unbuffed, with most of it applying to elemental damage), high block topped up by Magma Barrier and a Turbox Pillar shield, and an Opportunity life flask that auto-triggers on every perfect strike for near-permanent regen — enough to comfortably offset the Berserk degen. The creator runs 200% Delirium-juiced maps on it without dying.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- One-button playstyle once your attack time sits at 0.45s or lower — tap Perfect Strike for a guaranteed perfect hit every swing
- Extremely tanky: ~14k armour applying to elemental, 53–62% block, and a self-sustaining Opportunity flask
- Pounce + immortal wolves (via Brutus’ Brain) grant up to 75% more single-target damage for bossing
- Ancestral Cry adds two extra targets per strike for strong screen-wide clear
- Can be started as early as level 20 with an ascendancy carry
Cons
- Timing is sensitive to speed modifiers — chill, temporal bubbles, or an acceleration shrine can break the perfect-strike window
- Endgame setup is gear-gated by several uniques and a high-roll Darkness Enthroned
- The Paragon amulet instill and radius jewel get expensive at the top end
- Conditional attack-speed nodes (e.g. Unyielding) must be avoided, restricting tree options
Key Skills
- Perfect Strike — the core hit, tapped once per swing for a guaranteed perfect strike
- Molten Shower — innate to Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler; passive projectiles that enable Pursuit and add damage
- Ancestral Cry — clear-speed engine, adds two nearby targets to strikes and buffs fire damage
- Pounce — marks enemies for up to 75% more single-target damage via a pack of immortal wolves
- Berserk / Infernal Cry — rage payoff (16 extra max rage from the ascendancy) plus extra fire damage
Gear & Anointments
Weapon is the new Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler mace for strength-stacking, though a rare mace also works if you want raw damage. Mandatory pieces are a Constricting Command helmet (keeps you permanently “surrounded” for big damage, block and attack-speed buffs) and a Darkness Enthroned belt rolled 90%+ and counting as body armour, socketed with a Fox idol for global skill quality. The amulet wants the hidden Paragon notable (instilled via Ferocity + Isolation + Despair delirium emotions) for another 5% quality. A Turbox Pillar shield supplies fire res and damage-as-fire scaling. Stack strength and flat added damage on rings; armour and armour-applies-to-elemental on body armour. Flasks: a Liaga Spirits mana flask and the non-negotiable Opportunity life flask, which auto-triggers on perfect strikes.
Endgame Notes
The build is designed for heavily juiced mapping — the creator runs 200% Delirium and survives comfortably thanks to the armour/block/regen layering. For pinnacle bossing, swap the clear-speed Perfected Endurance support out for Elemental Armament 2 (or Rigwald’s Ferocity) since the extra targets aren’t needed, and lean on the Pounce single-target multiplier.
