Overview
This Stormweaver turns Orb of Storms into a placed lightning zone that keeps shocking and damaging packs while the character is free to move. Instead of standing still and channelling, the player drops an orb into the fight, layers Arc on top for chaining hits, and repositions while the storm does most of the work. The result is a ranged caster that clears comfortably and rarely has to commit to a dangerous spot.
Damage is pushed further through a mana-scaling layer: Archmage and Mana Tempest convert a large mana pool into extra spell damage, while Sigil of Power provides a burst window for rares and bosses. Elemental Weakness and Frost Bomb’s exposure soften tougher targets so the lightning hits land harder when it matters.
The creator rates it 4/5 for league start and bossing, and 5/5 for both mapping and scaling — smooth clear and long-term scaling are the main selling points, with bossing solid but dependent on good orb placement.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Orb of Storms keeps dealing damage while you move, so mapping feels fluid and safe
- Arc adds fast chaining lightning to clean up whatever the orb leaves behind
- Strong scaling through mana, cast speed, area and lightning damage
- Sigil of Power + Mana Tempest give a clear burst window for rares and bosses
- Fully ranged playstyle keeps you away from melee threats
Cons
- Damage depends on placing the orb where enemies will stay long enough
- Wants mana sustain and cast speed before it feels smooth
- Needs proper defenses to hold up in harder content
- Bossing asks for careful positioning around mechanics
Key Skills
- Orb of Storms — main damage zone, linked with Overabundance, Harmonic Remnants, Efficiency, Zenith and Magnified Area for area clear and shock
- Arc — secondary chaining lightning skill (Sion’s Temper, Rapid Casting, Rakiata’s Flow among its supports)
- Sigil of Power — burst setup placed before harder fights
- Mana Tempest + Archmage — mana-based damage scaling layer
- Elemental Weakness / Frost Bomb — curse and exposure to lower enemy resistances
Gear & Anointments
Gear priorities are lightning damage, spell damage, cast speed, area damage, maximum mana, mana recovery and cooldown recovery. Spellslinger runs Lightning Conduit, Lightning Mastery, Elemental Focus, Rising Tempest and Controlled Destruction for extra spell pressure, Siphon Elements and Convalescence cover sustain and recovery. Specific uniques and the anoint are to be confirmed against the source video and its linked PoB.
Endgame Notes
For bosses, keep the orb positioned on the target, curse and expose it, then stack Sigil of Power and Mana Tempest during safe windows while casting Arc. Move out when mechanics get dangerous — uptime and positioning matter more than raw burst.
