Overview
This is a campaign-focused leveling route for an Orb of Storms Stormweaver, written by a creator who had just finished the run and wanted to record what actually mattered. It is not an endgame build guide — it stops at the end of the campaign and points forward to a mana-stacking transition covered separately.
The central idea is that on a league start you cannot lean on gear or gem levels, so the damage has to come from somewhere else: enemy resistances. Frost Bomb exposure, locked to weapon set 2 and boosted by two increased-exposure clusters, combines with lightning penetration locked to Orb of Storms on weapon set 1. The creator reports reaching roughly -100% elemental resistance on normal monsters, -90% on magic, -75% on rares and -50% on bosses. Against a 50%-resistance boss that turns a 1,000 damage hit into 1,500 — a threefold multiplier for free.
The second multiplier is orb count. Secrets of the Orb in Act 2 adds a third orb, and the Act 3 ascendancy points push the limit to five. Each step is roughly 30% more damage, and after the second one the creator says damage stops being a problem entirely and boss phases start getting skipped.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Damage comes from exposure and penetration rather than gear, so it works on a genuinely empty league-start budget
- Two clean power spikes (Secrets of the Orb, then the Act 3 ascendancy) that each add roughly 30% more damage
- Boss phases can be skipped outright from Act 3 onward
- Simple gem requirements — the exposure setup needs only Overabundance and Spell Echo to function
Cons
- Requires deliberate weapon-set gem and passive locking, which is easy to get wrong
- Defences are an afterthought until the end of the campaign, where the creator advises picking up energy shield nodes and Blasphemy with Temporal Chains
- The guide stops at the campaign; the endgame mana transition is left for a follow-up video
- Mana sustain needs Efficiency support early, since Orb of Storms is spammed constantly
Key Skills
- Orb of Storms — the main skill from the Rust King onward, supported first by Overabundance and Efficiency, later by Zenith II and Rapid Casting
- Frost Bomb — the exposure engine, locked to weapon set 2 with increased-exposure clusters
- Spark — the beach opener for the first few levels only
- Convalescence — the first spirit gem, for energy shield recovery in dangerous moments
- Blasphemy + Temporal Chains — end-of-campaign crowd control
Gear & Anointments
The route is deliberately gear-independent — the whole premise is that a fresh league gives you nothing to work with. Passive priorities are the strong defensive and offensive notes inside the Sorceress starting area in Act 1, then a hard rush to Secrets of the Orb in Act 2. Ascendancy order is Constant Gale first for permanent Arcane Surge, then the Act 3 points for the orb limit increase. Weapon set 1 carries lightning penetration allocated to Orb of Storms; weapon set 2 carries the exposure clusters allocated to Frost Bomb. Specific item targets are to be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator flags the post-campaign goal as a full mana setup. The open question raised is how to take damage before life without Mind over Matter, since Indigon cannot afford any mana regeneration penalty — Cloak of Defiance is proposed as the answer, with details deferred to a follow-up video.
