Overview
An offbeat Warrior league starter built around Fist of Kalguur — an extra heavy hit that folds into your Empowered attacks on a four-second delay. The character levels as a standard empowered-attack melee through the early acts, then, once a four-socket smith’s stone arrives around Act 4, moves onto Earthquake with Fist of Kalguur socketed plus supports that make it trigger more often.
The result is a slam that, about a second after the main hit, produces two extra aftershock waves: one from Earthquake itself and a second from Fist of Kalguur. Damage is more than enough for the campaign and early maps. Because Fist of Kalguur’s level follows the main gem, a two-handed weapon is mandatory for gem levels and base damage.
The defining gear twist: Chernobog’s Pillar goes in the off hand via the Giant’s Blood keystone, and The Vertex helmet removes the resulting attribute requirements. That frees the build from stacking huge Strength, at the cost of a helmet slot that contributes no defence and no Runic Ward — which the trigger setup needs (about 150 Runic Ward per attack).
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Two delayed aftershock waves per slam give strong clear for acts and early maps
- Unusual, genuinely experimental setup — a creative alternative to standard slam builds
- Elemental resistances and chaos resistance are easy to cap on this gear
Cons
- Survivability is the admitted weak point: max hit and stuns from small mobs are big problems
- The Vertex helmet slot adds no defence and no Runic Ward
- Low life on much of the gear; the build is still being tested with unallocated passives
- Not an off-the-shelf guide — the creator is still solving the defensive layer
Key Skills
- Earthquake — main slam; its gem level drives Fist of Kalguur’s level
- Fist of Kalguur — delayed extra hit that adds a second aftershock
- Empowered attacks — the leveling core before Earthquake is available
Gear & Anointments
- Two-handed weapon (required for gem level and damage)
- Chernobog’s Pillar off hand, enabled by Giant’s Blood
- The Vertex helmet to ignore attribute requirements
- Early maps used a unique body armour that keeps life flasks permanently active plus a belt extending flasks to energy shield; later swapped to The Brass Dome (Runic Ward version), reaching about 1,500 Runic Ward
- Planned upgrade: an Amanamu-related socketable that makes Giant’s Blood delay part of incoming attack damage; more life on gear
