Overview
This is a mirror-tier Reverse Chill Monk built around chilling yourself to weaponise the Reverse Chill keystone, converting the movement penalty of chill into a massive action- and movement-speed multiplier. A Skullbreaker helmet lets your own high-mana Rolling Assault hits self-chill the character, which the keystone flips into roughly 250% movement speed and sub-second attack cycles — the reason the build feels so slick to pilot.
Offence is a Cold-leaning hybrid: Rolling Assault carries clear, while Herald of Ice chains armour-break explosions across packs and a Charged Staff / Tempest Bell / Freezing Mark setup layers shock, freeze and 100% crit onto everything. Bosses are simply frozen and deleted inside a single freeze window, with the creator targeting 10 million DPS on a finished character.
The creator is blunt that this is an endgame money-sink, not a starter — they estimate 1.5–2k Divines invested, leaning on Mageblood, a legacy Fox Shade and near-mirror rares. It rewards deep investment with a very high ceiling rather than budget accessibility.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Reverse Chill delivers ~250% movement speed and sub-second Rolling Assault — exceptional map clear feel
- Herald of Ice armour-break chain clears packs almost hands-free
- Bosses die inside one freeze thanks to Heavy Frost + Charged Staff shock stacking
- Very high scaling ceiling (creator projects up to 10M DPS and 50–60k evasion)
- Strong layered defence: huge evasion, Ghost Dance ES recovery (~1k/sec), freeze/ignite/stun immunity
Cons
- Extremely expensive — explicitly not playable under ~1k Divines, and Mageblood is mandatory
- Attribute-starved; crystallised immunities and anointments require careful amulet crafting
- Gear-gated crit cap — the whole build hinges on reaching 100% crit across four skills
- Constant self-damage means Energy Shield never natural-recharges, so evasion uptime is critical
Key Skills
- Rolling Assault (Whirling Assault) — primary clear skill; scales beautifully with the reverse-chill movement speed
- Herald of Ice — armour-break explosion chain that carries pack clear and re-procs off frozen kills
- Tempest Bell / Charged Staff — stacked on bosses for shock magnitude and burst single-target
- Freezing Mark — applies shock, breaks armour and grants extra cold damage on freeze
- Ghost Dance — the survival engine, recovering large chunks of ES per second while evasion holds
Gear & Anointments
The weapon is a quarterstaff — either a Cold-focused roll (easy Herald freeze chaining, boss one-freezes) or a full-physical roll for higher single-target at the cost of slower freezes. Core uniques are non-negotiable at this budget: Skullbreaker helmet to enable the self-chill, Mageblood for flask-driven evasion and crit, a legacy Fox Shade body for evasion scaling, and an Against the Darkness jewel plus a spirit-granting jewel for the meta-gem chain and freeze immunity. The amulet is crafted for two all-attributes plus cooldown recovery, and cooldown recovery is treated as a build-defining stat for Ghost Dance uptime. Specific item rolls should be confirmed against the source video and its Path of Building.
Endgame Notes
This is an endgame-only build: the creator plays deep maps and pinnacle bosses, over-investing in cooldown recovery so Ghost Dance stays near-permanent even under reduced-recovery map mods. Crystallised immunities (freeze, ignite, stun) are solved through gear so juiced and burning-ground maps stay comfortable.
