Overview

This is a late-patch revision of the “Mark to Win” Ice Shot Deadeye — a cold-conversion bow archer that leans on Mark uptime and heavy freeze buildup to lock packs down while Ice Shot shreds them. The core identity has not changed from earlier versions of the build: move constantly, keep the Mark rolling, and let a very high crit chance plus a large crit multiplier do the work. What has changed is the balance point. Rather than push damage further, this revision spends the surplus on survivability so the build can hold up inside Grand Expedition and other heavily juiced endgame content.

The headline gear change is dropping Headhunter for Mageblood. The creator was skeptical at first but reports the swap feels clearly better in practice: instead of relying on stolen rare modifiers that only exist while packs are alive, Mageblood delivers constant, predictable power through mapping and — more importantly — through boss fights, where Headhunter contributes nothing. The chosen flask set is double Diamond for crit chance, Sulphur for damage, and Silver for skill speed, deliberately skipping Quicksilver on the grounds that the build is already fast enough without it.

The passive tree was rebalanced along the same lines. Roughly 100k of tooltip damage was traded away — plus a chunk of surplus freeze buildup — to buy evasion and deflection. Ice Shot still sits around 249k in the hideout and pushes toward 300k with Tailwind stacks up, which the creator judges to be well past the point of diminishing returns for map clear.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Extremely fast mapping — the build zooms through maps and deletes packs on contact
  • Very high crit chance (~41%) paired with 400%+ crit damage before flask uptime
  • Freeze buildup above 200% locks down most map content without further investment
  • The rebalanced tree makes it genuinely tanky: ~80% deflection chance cutting roughly half of incoming damage, on top of ~70% evade chance
  • Performs well in Grand Expedition against tougher, one-shot-capable mobs

Cons

  • Not a league-start build in any sense — Mageblood alone puts it deep into the endgame-only bracket
  • Single-target is adequate rather than a focus; the build is tuned for clear, not for dedicated boss setups
  • Depends on constant movement and Tailwind stacks for its peak defensive numbers
  • The creator’s own showcase footage was cut short by client freezes, crashes, and disconnects on PC — a game-side problem, but one that hits this playstyle hard since it removes the ability to dodge

Key Skills

  • Ice Shot — the main clear and damage skill, converting to cold and spreading freeze across packs
  • Mark — the build’s namesake; keeping it applied is what turns the damage from good into overwhelming
  • Tailwind stacking — not a skill per se, but maintaining 10 stacks is what pushes both damage and evasion to their listed values

Gear & Anointments

Bow-based Deadeye gear with a heavy crit and cold slant. The defining item is Mageblood, replacing Headhunter as the belt; the flask loadout inside it is two Diamond flasks, one Sulphur, and one Silver. Silver contributes 30% increased skill speed, Sulphur 60% increased damage (its consecrated ground is irrelevant here since the build never stands still). Gauan’s Resolve is used to push crit damage further. On the tree, the revision removes a crit damage node and the four Hardness of the Elements nodes, then picks up deflection nodes — which set deflection rating equal to evasion rating — plus additional evasion rating clusters. Specific rare item rolls and any anointments should be confirmed against the source video.

Endgame Notes

The build is explicitly tuned for Grand Expedition and similar juiced T16-tier content. The creator’s verdict is that the build itself barely dies there once the deflection and evasion changes are in; the deaths shown in the footage were caused by client freezes rather than by the build failing. Note that the gameplay footage was recorded before the tree changes were applied, so what is shown on screen is the older, squishier version with Mageblood already equipped.
