Overview
This is a minion Infernalist built around volume: the army does the damage, the player positions and drops a Flame Wall. Powered Zealot spectres are the centrepiece — they cast Spark, and every projectile that passes through Flame Wall picks up added fire damage, so a single wall converts the whole army’s output into a much larger number. Unearth is layered on top to convert corpses into Bone Crawlers, and stacking up to roughly twenty-five of them turns the minion wall into a defensive layer as well, since monsters physically cannot reach the character through it.
The leveling path deliberately does not start on Powered Zealots. Act 1 opens with Flame Wall spawning Raging Spirits and Skeletal Snipers firing Gas Arrows that the wall ignites for burst. Vaal Guard spectres are picked up in Act 3 and carry the character through early maps; the swap to Powered Zealots is held until maps are reached and resistances have been repaired. Increased presence is a recurring theme — a bigger presence radius means more of the army receives the character’s damage and life bonuses.
The guide is structured as a milestone ladder rather than a single tree: separate templates exist at roughly level 74, level 85, a 500-spirit endgame version, and a top-end version running Rakiata’s Flow on the Powered Zealots. That mid-campaign-to-mapping gap is exactly the part most league starters skip, and filling it is the guide’s stated purpose.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- One-to-two button playstyle that stays casual friendly all the way into endgame
- Scales cheaply — spirit and minion damage nodes are the whole progression
- Strong against bosses even at league-start gear levels
- The minion wall is a genuine defensive layer, not just damage
- Documented milestone trees at 74, 85, 500 spirit and beyond, so there is no progression cliff
- Works as a leveling base for either Infernalist or Lich
Cons
- Minion AI still has rough edges that need playing around
- The very top end (Rakiata’s Flow on Powered Zealots) is expensive
- Screen readability suffers once the full army is out
- Requires finding and binding a Powered Zealot spectre, which is its own side quest
Key Skills
- Powered Zealot spectres — the main damage source from maps onward, casting Spark through Flame Wall
- Flame Wall — the single button that adds fire damage to every friendly projectile passing through it
- Unearth — converts corpses into Bone Crawlers to bulk out the army and body-block
- Skeletal Snipers / Arsonists / Vaal Guard — the supporting projectile line, and the Act 3 to early-map carry
- Summon Infernal Hound or Wolf Pack — the single companion slot, kept free later on Infernal Hound
Gear & Anointments
Spirit is the primary scaling stat — more spirit means more minions, and Muster support pays roughly seven percent more damage per revived minion active. The endgame tree stacks armour and energy shield for defence alongside heavy minion damage and spirit nodes, and the late version leans into block chance. A unique granting increased reservation efficiency for skills created by undead minions is picked up to fit more minions into the same spirit pool. Perfect Jeweller’s Orbs go into the Powered Zealot gem. At the highest investment tier Rakiata’s Flow is slotted into the Zealots, inverting their lightning damage against monsters, which then frees the Blasphemy and Frost Bomb slots for yet more minions. Note that raising the shield is not required to block — a high block chance blocks automatically.
Endgame Notes
The progression runs level 90 Infernalist, then a 500-spirit version, then the Rakiata’s Flow version. A level 91 Lich profile is also provided as an alternative ascendancy template for players who prefer that route.
