Overview
This Acolyte of Chayula build turns the Archon of Chyula’s tornadoes into a hands-off damage engine. Once the buff is rolling you mostly dodge around the screen while the lingering tornadoes hunt down enemies on their own, each tornado hit counting as a weapon hit that triggers Molten Shower from the unique mace Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler. The result is a low-button, high-damage setup that barely needs to aim.
The build leans hard into strength stacking. Dual Brutus’ Lead Sprinklers grant a global pool of flat fire damage scaled by strength, Iron Grasp converts that strength into projectile and spell damage, and Crown of Eyes lets the spell scaling also apply to the Molten Shower attack. Original Sin then converts the added fire into chaos, which the Acolyte’s purple remnants and the Archon buff amplify further with extra chaos and withered.
It is built for repeatable boss-density mechanics rather than blink-fast mapping. The auto-targeting tornadoes sit on top of Ritual circles and Abyss cracks and delete everything that spawns, making it a strong farmer for those mechanics while still hitting hard enough for tougher single targets via a dedicated curse weapon swap.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Near hands-free clearing once Archon of Chyula is active — dodge and let the tornadoes work
- Auto-targeting means no aiming required
- Excellent at Ritual and Abyss, where lingering tornadoes camp the spawn zones
- Huge chaos damage ceiling from strength stacking plus the Acolyte remnant package
- Dedicated single-target boost available through the Despair curse weapon swap
Cons
- Not tanky — low energy-shield hit pool with no block, evasion, or avoidance by default; you rely entirely on dodge roll
- Not a fast mapper; tornadoes are slow and there is little room to scale movement speed
- Gear is unique-heavy, leaving almost no room to scale item rarity
- Resistances are awkward to cap around the required uniques
- Hard requirement on a fully unlocked ascendancy (cannot be a league starter)
Key Skills
- Archon of Chyula — the glory skill that spawns the tornadoes; chained back-to-back via the Dominion anoint, which removes its recovery period
- Molten Shower — granted by Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler and triggered by tornado hits; the build’s primary damage
- Molten Blast — used only to manually build glory when no monsters are around
- Into the Breach — spawns the guaranteed purple remnants for extra chaos-as-damage stacks
- Despair — second-weapon-set curse for a major single-target damage spike
Gear & Anointments
The core is two Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler maces (global flat fire scaled by strength), Iron Grasp body armour, Crown of Eyes, Original Sin, and Astramentis for raw attributes. A Heroic Tragedy jewel named “Verona” grants Black Scythe Training to convert strength into energy shield. The mandatory amulet anoint is Dominion, which removes the Archon recovery period and enables the back-to-back tornado loop. Three Grand Spectrum (Sapphire) jewels were used to cap resistances, though the creator notes their price spiked — a cheaper alternative is crafted ES boots with resistance suffixes plus corrupted-resistance enchant jewels. Crafted gloves, belt, and ring fill remaining resistances while squeezing out as much energy shield as possible.
Endgame Notes
This is a respec-into build, not a leveling build — Archon of Chyula must be unlocked by speaking to Chyula in the Monastery of the Keepers after finishing the Breach endgame quest line. For squishier playthroughs the creator tested a block variant using a Svalinn shield with an Ox idol and the Wide Barrier wheel, reaching ~63% block for far more survivability at the cost of one Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler’s worth of damage.
