Overview
This build reworks a lightning Spark caster around Blood Mage and mana-stacking, trading the older energy-shield-plus-Chaos-Inoculation Stormweaver setup for a Blood Mage that reserves life to fuel its skills. The creator swapped over because a pure ES/CI Storm caster ran out of survivability and damage for the heavily juiced Expedition maps they wanted to farm, and Blood Mage — even after the leech nerf — still delivers the raw stat ceiling the build needs.
The core loop is Arch Mage plus mana efficiency: a wall of Remnant support gems (Harmonic Remnant, Remnant Potency, Life/Mana Remnants, Remnants of Kalore) feeds a Cast-on-Crit Spark that pushes past one million DPS with 99% critical hit chance and roughly 750 critical damage bonus. Comet rides along on the life-reservation trick via Series Communion, and Siphon Elements only functions because the reserved life lets it run without consuming spirit — a deliberate interaction the whole gem layout is built around.
This is an established, top-end farming character (level 98, resistances capped, a deep jewel-socket passive tree) rather than a fresh-league project. It leans on very expensive gear — the creator runs Headhunter and name-drops a ~400-Divine item — so it is best understood as an aspirational endgame Expedition farmer.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Over one million Spark DPS with 99% crit chance and huge crit-damage bonus, so both clear and single-target feel strong.
- Blood Mage’s life-reservation opens up Series Communion and Siphon Elements without paying spirit, freeing that budget for more supports.
- Very tanky in practice for a caster — the creator reports capped resistances and zero deaths farming Expedition at level 98.
- Headhunter turns dense Expedition packs into a rolling buff engine, snowballing speed and damage.
- Extremely deep, farm-ready Remnant setup that keeps Expedition rewards high.
Cons
- Eye-wateringly expensive — Headhunter, and gear the creator values around 400 Divine, put this far out of reach for most players.
- Zero chaos resistance as configured; the creator openly “prays” not to die to chaos damage.
- Heavy reliance on Blink to escape after Headhunter teleports you into packs; without it the playstyle is much riskier.
- Complex gem and jewel interactions (life reservation enabling Siphon Elements, Cast-on-Crit loops) make it unfriendly to pick up blind.
Key Skills
- Spark — the main damage skill; scaled through Arch Mage, projectile, and crit to exceed 1M DPS.
- Comet — secondary nuke supported by Efficiency, Spell Cascade, Boundless Energy, running off reserved life.
- Arch Mage — the mana-stacking backbone that converts a huge mana pool into damage.
- Siphon Elements — enabled only by the life-reservation trick; a key part of the Remnant/mana engine.
- Blink — mandatory mobility to escape after Headhunter teleports you into mob packs.
Gear & Anointments
The archetype is a spell-caster stacking mana and energy shield with heavy critical investment. Standout pieces called out in the source: a wand/sceptre with +5 lightning and +4 all spells, an amulet with +4 all spell skills and a cast-with-mana modifier, gloves with projectile speed/damage plus two to projectile skills and double crit, and Headhunter for the buff-stealing snowball (with Mageblood named as an alternative that adds roughly 150k Spark DPS if you prefer flask uptime and rarity). Runes and jewels lean into maximum ES-per-mana and double critical hit chance. Specific unique and rune choices should be confirmed against the source video, as several are swaps the creator is still tuning.
Endgame Notes
The build is tuned specifically for heavily juiced Expedition farming — the creator stacks six-plus rune Remnant slots per map and skips ahead to the “explosion” payoff of a fully set-up Expedition. Expect strong returns on high-investment Expedition maps rather than a general do-everything profile.
