[POE2] Twister Spirit Walker - So Bright You Need Sunglasses

Overview

This Spirit Walker spear build — nicknamed the Rainbow Twister — has become a popular ritual-farming and mapping setup in 0.5 thanks to fast clear, solid damage and a forgiving play style. The Spirit Walker ascendancy is the engine: Primal Bounty grants a large amount of projectile speed, which Projectile Acceleration converts into extra projectile damage. The only catch is that Primal Bounty needs about six seconds to reach maximum stacks, which historically made it feel clunky.

The 0.5 lineage gem Olaf’s Conviction smooths that out by granting extra skill uses, letting the build re-trigger Primal Bounty far more often and hold near-permanent max-stack uptime. The damage identity comes from The Taming ring, which makes Twister and Whirling Slash count as boosted by ignited, shocked and chilled ground at all times — so the build gains 50% of damage as each elemental type without ever creating those ground effects itself. Twister is the main damage skill; Whirling Slash generates whirlwinds and doubles as mobility, which makes the weapon-set system a natural fit — one set tuned for whirlwind generation, the other purely for Twister damage.

• Weapon-set juggling adds a small amount of play-style overhead

Gear & Anointments

The first chase item is The Taming, assembled from Barracks Grip, Barracks Pass and Barracks Respite at a hidden forging altar on the left side of the Osmiran Ranges. For the weapon, the Ordained Grand Spear is cheap, high-damage and high-crit, enough to clear all current content before upgrading to a rare spear later. Twister links recommended are Elemental Armament, Projectile Acceleration, Prolonged Duration, Retreat and Salvo (swap Salvo for Rakietta’s Flow or Gokan’s Resolve on a larger budget). Whirling Slash runs at level one for mana cost, supported by attack speed, rage, and ideally Rigwald’s Ferocity in weapon set one. Confirm exact rolls against the source video.

Endgame Notes

The build is described as able to clear all current endgame content at reasonable investment, with a clear upgrade path: replace the Ordained Grand Spear with a strong rare spear and swap Salvo for Rakietta’s Flow or Gokan’s Resolve to push damage higher.
