Overview
This is a zone-by-zone levelling route for Gemling Twister, taking a character from level one through the end of the campaign and into maps. It is a route guide first and a build guide second: the creator is explicit that Gemling Twister is not beginner-friendly, because the ascendancy’s endgame configuration is left for you to research separately.
The plan opens with a Huntress mule. You take a throwaway Huntress to Clearfell purely to acquire Whirling Slash and Twister, stash them, then roll the Mercenary you actually intend to play. That character starts on crossbow through the Manor, swapping to Fragmentation Rounds once adds spawn, then picks up Frost Bomb and Ice Nova on arrival in Clearfell and transitions into the Twister package proper.
From there the route is a straight sequence of zones, bosses, quest rewards and vendor checks, with a repeating combat pattern — Frost Bomb for cold infusion, Ice Nova for chilled ground, then Whirling Slash and Twister — that carries every campaign boss.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Extremely detailed: every zone, boss, seal, obelisk and permanent-buff pickup is called out in order
- Twister carries reliably from the early acts through to maps
- Costs nothing — this is a pure levelling plan with no unique requirements
- Includes recaps of the skill, support gem and passive tree state at the end of each act
Cons
- The creator states outright this is not a beginner-friendly starter — you must plan your own Gemling endgame
- The mule step adds setup time before your real character starts
- Route knowledge is the point; following it without knowing the acts means constant reference back to the video
- No endgame gearing, Atlas or pinnacle content is covered
Key Skills
- Twister — the primary damage skill from Clearfell onward; picks up Salvo from a tier-3 support gem in Act 3
- Whirling Slash — applies blind and fills the gaps between Twister casts
- Frost Bomb — cold infusion setup before every boss engagement
- Ice Nova — chilled ground from level one, the reason bosses stay controllable
- Ice Strike Arrow — picks up Elemental Focus as a tier-3 support in Act 3
Gear & Anointments
There are no unique requirements. The gearing plan is entirely campaign-native: use transmutations and augmentations on spears as you find them, prioritising damage modifiers on the prefix, and hunt Refined Arms in Redfield for an Iron Haft spear. Rune priorities and the vendor-search regex are provided in the source video’s description rather than the video itself.
Permanent-buff pickups are treated as mandatory route steps — Beira for 10% cold resistance, Sister of Garukhan for lightning resistance, and the Grim Cross Skull in Cruor Village for the Spirit buff. Specific endgame uniques are outside this guide’s scope; the creator points at other Gemling endgame guides for that.
Endgame Notes
Deliberately out of scope. The creator names DS Lily’s Insta Snipe Gemling, JungRoan’s Kaom’s Root and Frost Breath variant, and Mr Siro’s version as references for where to take the character once Twister has carried you to maps.
