Overview
This is a fire-ignite league starter that splits its job across two weapon sets: oil grenades fired from a crossbow paint the ground and nearby enemies in oil, and a staff-cast Flameblast ignites that oil into one enormous detonation. The grenades themselves deal almost nothing — every point of damage comes off the staff and the jewels feeding it, which is why the gearing stays absurdly cheap.
Fubgun rates it as one of the strongest starters he has played, on par with his 0.3 Lightning Arrow Deadeye. The swap happens at level 52, when Flameblast unlocks; before that you simply level as a standard grenade Mercenary. From 52 onward the creator reports bosses dying in seconds, a full 200% Delirium clear on day one, and enough currency to buy a Headhunter and a Mageblood inside the first 24 hours.
The reason it farms so well is the gear profile. Because the build only needs life, resistances and a decent staff, every remaining affix slot can be spent on Item Rarity — the creator sits at 182% and can push past 200% with rarity boots. On a fresh economy, where even mediocre rares sell, that rarity stacking is worth more than raw clear speed.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Extremely cheap to start — a +3 staff with spell damage was enough to kill Arbiter and Arbiter of Divinity with no trouble
- Gear is just life, resistances and rarity, leaving huge room for Item Rarity stacking and early-league currency income
- Cast on Dodge plus a Short Foot amulet gives a dodge roll faster than sprint, making it a genuinely quick league-start character
- Clears 200% Delirium on day one; bosses melt once the ignite snapshot lands
Cons
- The damage ceiling is real — the creator openly says it will not scale into the very high end the way Twisters or Ice Shot Deadeye does
- Fragile to gear mistakes: any flat or extra fire damage outside the staff will pre-ignite the oil and break the entire combo
- Weapon-set point allocation must be exactly right, or nearly all damage is lost
- Burning-ground map mods force a gem swap, and single bosses may need two Flameblasts to land the ignite
Key Skills
- Flameblast — the entire damage payload; channelled on weapon set 1 with a staff, it ignites the oil
- Oil Grenade — weapon set 2, crossbow; lays the oil that Flameblast detonates, deals negligible damage itself
- Cast on Dodge — unlocks at level 58 and supplies the long dodge-roll distance that defines how the build moves
- Tornado / Frost Bomb — the spell socketed into the Cast on Dodge setup; swap Tornado out on burning-ground maps so it cannot steal a weak ignite
Gear & Anointments
Weapon set 1 is a staff, weapon set 2 a crossbow, and the weapon-set passive points must be split deliberately: ignite magnitude nodes assigned to Flameblast, area and cooldown reduction nodes assigned to Oil Grenade. Absolutely no flat fire damage or extra fire damage anywhere except the staff. Rare gear is life, resistances and Item Rarity on high-Ward hybrid bases — a 20%-quality Wolfskin Mantle alone gives around 500 Ward, which functions as extra effective life. Later, a full armour setup with armour also applying to elemental damage is the stronger endgame defence, but it competes with rarity for affixes, so most players run life-and-Ward first. Clear scaling comes from area of effect combined with projectile speed, which controls how far the grenades travel before bursting. Specific uniques and anointments beyond this are to be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator pushed 200% Delirium on day one and cleared Arbiter and Arbiter of Divinity, but is explicit that this is an early-to-mid-league character rather than a mirror-tier scaler. Flammability Magnitude nodes help if bosses resist the initial ignite — they raise ignite chance, not damage. A useful quirk: logging out and back in inside a map resets all cooldowns, so a botched Flameblast opener costs nothing.
