Overview

This is a djinn-focused take on the Sorceress summoner that trades the usual walking minion army for a set of invulnerable elemental djinn driven by active command skills. Instead of parking a horde of skeletons and waiting, the character keeps repeating Kelari’s Deception on the same patch of ground, stacking damage on every recast and turning a single spot into a grinder that eats rares and bosses alive.

Patch 0.5 pulls this archetype in two directions at once. Kelari’s Deception picked up a cap on the more-damage gain from repeated casts, which is a genuine nerf, but minions received large late-game damage buffs, command skills carry a much smaller movement-speed penalty, and the tree gained new command and arcane scaling — Puppet Master stacks, an arcane support cluster, and extra command cooldown recovery. On balance the setup came out ahead of where it started.

It also dodges the worst of the energy shield changes. Disciple of Varashta gets Navira’s Well as a repeatable way to restart energy shield recharge, so the character stays tanky enough to play aggressively while the djinn do the killing. The trade-off is honest: this is a button-heavy summoner, not a lazy one, and it is not among the fastest mapping builds in the patch.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Enormous single-target damage — the repeated-cast stacking deletes pinnacle bosses before they get a rotation off
  • Navira’s Well gives on-demand energy shield recharge, which makes the build feel safe in juiced content
  • Scales hard from a relatively low starting budget; a lot of the power sits in the tree and ascendancy rather than in chase uniques
  • Flexible — playable with Kelari alone, or mixed with Ruzhan and Navira depending on preference
  • Less affected by the 0.5 energy shield nerfs than most caster setups

Cons

  • Not a fast mapper; clear is fine but never the selling point
  • High button count for a summoner — boss rotations chain several setup skills before the damage window opens
  • Wants a Time-Lost Sapphire with minion crit notables to hit its ceiling, which is expensive
  • Requires a planned swap to Chaos Inoculation around 6,000 energy shield, and forgetting to unspec the reservation nodes afterwards is a common trap

Key Skills

  • Kelari’s Deception — the main damage button; cast repeatedly in the same area to stack damage
  • Kelari’s Brutality — applies Critical Weakness and the leash buff before the burst window
  • Ruzhan (fire djinn) — supplemental clear and Puppet Master stack upkeep, plus arcane trigger uptime
  • Navira’s Well — the defensive button; restarts energy shield recharge on demand
  • Frost Bomb + Pain Offering + Elemental Weakness — the boss opener that stacks exposure and buffs the minions

Gear & Anointments

The sceptre is the single most important slot: prioritise plus to minion levels first, then spirit, then ally damage bonus. Beyond that the build is a straightforward energy shield stacker.

  • Sceptre — +minion levels > spirit > ally damage; a purity-type sceptre lets you socket the aura package
  • Focus / helmet — energy shield plus minion levels; the creator rates a helmet that removes damage elements on command skill use very highly
  • Body armour — raw energy shield and spirit, with a cheap high-spirit unique as the budget option
  • Rings — an early cheap damage ring with rarity, moving to breach rings with minion damage or extra projectile mods later
  • Amulet — +minion skill levels and spirit; Dominion is the endgame anoint for permanent arcane uptime
  • Jewels — a Time-Lost Sapphire in the middle socket for the large radius; a plain large-radius crit chance version is the budget stand-in

Specific rare item rolls beyond the above should be confirmed against the source video.

Endgame Notes

The ascendancy order runs Bara of Kelari and Kelari’s Deception first for the core damage, then the clay line for scaling, then Bara of Ruzhan for the fire djinn, and finally the Navira nodes for the defensive package. Swap Magnified Area for Concentrated Area on the main setup when moving from mapping into pinnacle fights.
