Overview
This build turns the Gemling Legionnaire into a hands-off minion summoner powered by Unearth, flooding the screen with fast skeletal minions that clear and kill almost everything before you reach it. The Gemling’s defining trick is exploited to its limit: by stacking 15 of every support gem and balancing the colours evenly, the character picks up crit immunity, cheaper skills, and a wall of stacked maximum resistances — pushing elemental max res to 80% — all from the way the ascendancy reads gem colours.
The result is a build that plays you rather than the other way around. Your minions sprint ahead and shred everything in sight, so the gameplay loop is chasing the pack across the map while they detonate packs on contact. It is presented as a high-budget showcase, but the creator is clear that the core works well on a modest budget too — the high version simply layers on hyper-optimisations on top of an already-complete build.
What makes it stand out is how comfortably it spans content: it can sit inside 200% Delirium breach juice without folding, and it still has the single-target to put down endgame pinnacle bosses. The minion swarm does the work; the player manages positioning and the occasional command to focus a target.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Screen-wide, extremely fast minion clear — packs die before you get to them
- Stacked defensive layers: 80% max elemental resistance, crit immunity, and chill/ignite/shock immunity via balanced gem colours
- Genuinely tanky for a summoner (~3.4k life) while staying hands-off
- Scales smoothly from a budget setup into mirror-tier optimisation without changing its identity
- Handles the heaviest juice (200% Delirium, breach) and pinnacle bosses alike
Cons
- You must follow your minions — if they outrange you they despawn, so you cede a lot of control
- The gem-balancing and amulet crafting (quality breakpoints, +4 minions) is fiddly to set up correctly
- Some advertised optimisations (megalomaniacs, hyper-rolled jewels) cost mirrors for marginal gains
- Crystallised immunity wording is finicky and may not behave as expected on every node
Key Skills
- Unearth — the engine; generates the corpse/minion economy that fuels the swarm
- Skeletal Clerics — the workhorse minions, pushed to 12-15 active for the optimal feel
- Arctic Armour — key defensive layer, much stronger at the 40% quality two-stage breakpoint
- Pain Offering / minion buffs — layered on top for extra damage output
- Wolf Pack / Cath’s Brilliance — added in the high version for blind and damage mitigation
Gear & Anointments
The build leans on a wand for plus levels to Unearth (a Prism wand with +3 is called out as cheap and effective), an eternal rage amulet crafted with breach-essence quality to hit the +4 minion breakpoint, and a body armour carrying spirit so you can run more minions plus auras. Specific uniques like Sarah’s Heart (Purity of Ice without the spirit cost) and an Ulaman’s-style brace for passive armour break round it out. Many of the high-end items (megalomaniac jewels, Soul Meridian, legacy Grymvuld for +50 all attributes) are explicitly optional minmaxing — confirm exact item rolls against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator runs this through super-juiced 200% Delirium breach maps and all endgame pinnacle bosses. The build absorbs the lag-inducing density and still kills, with the swarm doing the clearing and the player steering toward the minions. Single-target is handled by commanding minions onto a focus target when needed.
