Overview
This Deadeye build turns a single Lightning Arrow into a chain reaction that wipes the screen. The arrow freezes a pack, Herald of Ice shatters the frozen enemies, Herald of Thunder cleans up the shocked ones, and Herald of Ash adds even more chaining — all amplified by the armour-explosion tech that lets chaos damage break armour and propagate the herald explosions through the whole pack. In 0.5 the creator describes Lightning Arrow as having exactly the speed, range, freeze buildup, and herald scaling needed to delete packs before they reach you.
The build is built around stacking over 100% area-of-effect for the heralds so explosions reach the next pack, enough cold for the arrow to freeze reliably, and chaos damage for the armour break. It is primarily a clear-speed monster, but it is far from a one-trick: the creator reports over 3 million single-target DPS through Lightning Rod plus the mark setup, alongside roughly 3.5k life that is enough to avoid most one-shots. That combination of screen-wide clear and high single target is what makes it a complete endgame package.
Gameplay is deliberately simple — stay at range, keep moving, and let Far Shot and Deadeye speed do the work. The farther the enemies, the harder the damage hits, so positioning is the main skill expression rather than a complex rotation.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional clear speed — one Lightning Arrow triggers a screen-wide herald chain reaction
- Over 3 million single-target DPS via Lightning Rod and the mark setup
- Simple, low-APM mapping: fire, move, let heralds finish the pack
- Deadeye’s Gathering Winds and Far Shot make movement fast and smooth
- Scales cleanly into juiced endgame and pinnacle bosses
Cons
- The armour-explosion herald tech is explicitly expensive to assemble
- Around 3.5k life — survivable but not tanky; careless positioning gets punished
- Not a league-starter; it needs the herald AoE stacking and armour-break setup to come online
- Relies on a specific bow (added-as-extra cold, plus-arrow) and quiver to function at full power
Key Skills
- Lightning Arrow — main clear skill; freezes packs to trigger the herald chain
- Lightning Rod — second damage skill for tougher enemies and bosses
- Herald of Ice / Thunder / Ash — the chain-reaction engine, each running armour-explosion supports
- Call Shots (marks) — auto-applies freezing, siphoning, and charge marks for single target
- Roa companion — utility and safety while your positioning carries
Gear & Anointments
The bow is the most important piece: a dual-string base with either fractured tier-one cold damage or extra chance to fire an additional arrow, plus 20% gained as extra cold (perfect essence of ice), and runes for plus-one arrow and gained-as-extra-chaos to feed the armour break. The quiver wants plus two to projectile gems, attack speed, and bow damage. The amulet seeks spirit, life, plus three projectile gems, and all attributes for the quiver’s barb bonus. Gloves and boots use essence of horror for socket value; gloves also want accuracy. A Headhunter is optional and purely for fun. Confirm exact rolls against the source video.
Endgame Notes
Ascendancy order is Gathering Winds, Call Shots, Projectile Proximity Specialisation with Far Shot, then Endless Munitions. Stack over 100% herald AoE so explosions reach the next pack, and prioritise freeze buildup, crit chance, crit damage, and elemental penetration on the tree. The build is designed to start on a core bow/quiver/herald setup and scale into spirit, jewels, sockets, and the armour-explosion tech for the most juiced content.
