This build reworks the classic Archmage Sorceress into a mana-stacking Arc caster tuned for Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5. Rather than leaning on energy shield recharge, it uses Eldritch Battery to convert the entire energy shield pool into mana, then feeds that giant pool into Archmage to add a huge slab of lightning damage to every Arc cast. The result is a spell that chains across the whole screen while a deep mana reserve doubles as the defensive layer.
The identity of the build is comfort under pressure. Because damage is taken from mana before life, the same stat that powers your hits also absorbs incoming damage, and strong mana regeneration keeps that buffer topped up instead of forcing you to wait between packs. Scion’s Temper widens Arc into an AoE-style clear, so mapping is a simple move-and-cast rhythm, while a stack of placed lightning tools turns the build into a serious single-target threat for 0.5’s harder pinnacle encounters.

Amulet and focus want +spell levels, cast speed, mana and enough spirit to run the setup, and rings prioritize flat mana, mana regen and maximum mana. Endgame Notes
The build is designed around 0.5’s tougher pinnacle fights. The three defensive-and-offensive pillars — full mana-before-life conversion, high mana regeneration, and the spirit needed to run every skill — must be solved together; if one is missing the build feels notably weaker. Stormweaver’s Force of Will and the Shaper of the Winter / Heavy Snow chill nodes make dangerous boss patterns easier to read by slowing enemy action speed.
