Overview
This is a fully realised, min-maxed version of a Scattering Calamity Blood Mage that leans on Archmage and heavy mana investment to turn raw mana into damage. The core loop is simple to pilot but deep under the hood: His Scattering Calamity (a lightning spell from the Unborn Lich staff) fires a wall of projectiles that auto-aim across the screen, while a web of remnant, ward and Archon interactions keeps the character crit-capped and constantly buffed.
The build is designed to blast, not to defend. Energy shield is converted into mana, Mind over Matter routes incoming damage through that mana pool, and the creator’s honest verdict is that the best defensive layer here is killing everything before it can retaliate. On the offense side it is crit-capped (96%+ base, over 100% with Right of Passage active), overflowing on mana, and still has plenty of headroom left for more critical-damage jewel sockets.
It is a deep-endgame character built to chew through 200%+ Delirium corrupted maps and Expedition bosses without slowing down, and the creator frames it as a one-button playstyle — cast and move, and the auto-aim does the rest.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- One-button, auto-aiming playstyle that blasts through juiced maps with almost no effort
- Crit-capped and heavily overcapped, so damage stays reliable across all content
- Archon buff uptime is near-permanent thanks to the Dominion allocation, granting elemental resistances, movement speed and damage
- Remnant recovery (life and mana on pickup, from the tree) keeps you topped off while mapping
- Enormous scaling ceiling still left on the table — more jewel sockets and higher spell levels only push it further
Cons
- Very gear-gated: the Unborn Lich staff, an Archmage amulet and the crafted +2 projectile gloves (roughly 50–70 div to craft, far more to buy) are core
- Effectively a glass cannon — defences are minimal and rely on clearing the screen first
- Headhunter belt is used for the fun factor rather than survivability; a Mageblood would be safer
- Interlocking remnant / ward / Archon systems take some reading to fully understand, even if piloting is easy
Key Skills
- His Scattering Calamity — the main lightning nuke; a level-20 skill off the Unborn Lich staff that fires additional projectiles and auto-aims
- Comet (via Living Bomb) — a fire-infused finisher that roughly doubles comet damage when ignited
- Cast on Critical setup — triggers the comet/ignite package automatically as you crit-spam
- Explosive Transmutation + Remnants of Kolgur — detonates picked-up remnants to keep Runic Ward refreshed and feed Arbiter’s Ignition
- Trickster Shard echoes — spawns mirage casters that repeat your skill, excellent against tanky rares and bosses
Gear & Anointments
The weapon is the whole engine: an Unborn Lich staff carrying the level-20 His Scattering Calamity with increased elemental/spell damage per 100 max mana and the chance to fire two extra projectiles. Around it the build stacks maximum energy shield (converted to mana), resistances and Spirit. Key uniques and anoints include Alpha’s Howl for Spirit and the Runemaster cap, an Archmage-granting amulet with max-mana and spell-level rolls, and the Auto-generator anoint feeding power and frenzy charges. The crafted +2 projectile gloves with Techro Gaze are a major (and pricey) damage source. Headhunter is worn for flavour — a Mageblood is the safer alternative. Runes used are Rune of the Sky and a +1 spell-skill rune.
Endgame Notes
The showcase is built around 200%+ Delirium 9-mod corrupted maps and Expedition bosses, with dedicated tools (Rakiata’s Flow, Trickster Shard) for resistant or tanky targets. The creator notes several optional upgrade paths — dropping the Dominion Archon package for two extra jewel sockets could nearly double damage for players who don’t mind losing the buff uptime.
