Overview

This build is a single-companion ignite summoner that leans on one tamed beast — a flying Plague Harvester — carrying Infernal Legion (upgraded later to Kath’s Brilliance) so it constantly ignites enemies for a percentage of their own HP. Built on the Monk’s Acolyte of Chayula ascendancy, it uses the Walking Dream and Choice of Power nodes to harvest purple flame remnants, which are funneled onto the companion through Selfless Remnants support to layer on a large block of chaos damage that feeds the ignite.

The defining choice is comfort over peak numbers. Most Infernal Legion builds rely on constant weapon swapping with an Elephant or Chimera to maximise damage; this version deliberately skips that. The Plague Harvester flies over walls, enemies and obstacles, so a single oil-grenade clear setup spreads the companion’s ignite across the whole screen with no swap micro. It is the original tech of build authors Mr. Otter and Roth, adapted here by Cass TV.

The payoff is a build that clears the juiciest endgame content and melts pinnacle bosses while staying very easy to pilot — the trade-off being slightly lower ceiling damage than the swap-heavy variants and a meaningful gear/farming setup before it comes online.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Extremely comfortable play style — no constant weapon swapping required
  • Flying Plague Harvester ignores terrain, great for Sanctum runs, Breach, Abyss and Ritual
  • Oil grenades spread full companion ignite damage across the entire screen for fast clear
  • Scales cleanly into T16 maps and pinnacle endgame bosses
  • A genuinely cheap low-budget version exists (Cospri’s Will, Black Flame Ring are very cheap)

Cons

  • Gear-gated: wants Kath’s Brilliance, a well-rolled Plague Harvester, and Black Flame Ring tech
  • Requires farming a Plague Harvester with the right modifier (e.g. “all damage can ignite”)
  • Many active skills and curse/mark upkeep — more to manage than a one-button build
  • Lower peak damage than the weapon-swap Elephant/Chimera variants

Key Skills

  • Infernal Legion / Kath’s Brilliance (on the companion) — the core ignite engine, burning enemies for a percent of their HP
  • Selfless Remnants support — transfers harvested purple-flame chaos damage onto the companion to scale ignite
  • Oil Grenade (crossbow swap) — lays ground that the companion’s ignite sets ablaze, spreading damage screen-wide
  • Scythe Spear field — single-target tool: aggravates bleed which in turn aggravates ignites, melting bosses
  • Curses + Marks (Elemental Weakness, Charged/Eternal Mark, Frost Bomb) — strip resistances and amplify damage taken

Gear & Anointments

The companion is a tamed Plague Harvester farmed in the Interlude at Carrie Crossing (without dealing damage to the rare wasps), ideally with “all damage can ignite.” Weapons are a Shrine Scepter (free support-gem auras via Purity) paired with a crossbow swap for grenade clear. Black Flame Ring is the key cheap unique — it turns your self-inflicted Wither into increased fire damage taken, scaled by Withering Presence. The low-budget version uses Cospri’s Will (free Withering Presence, curse hex-proof enemies) instead of an unset ring. Amulet wants +3 to minion skills; rings/belt prioritise minion life since damage scales off companion HP. Jewels want companion damage and companion HP. Specific high-end rolls (e.g. minions have increased magnitude of damaging ailment) are confirmed against the source video.

Endgame Notes

Cass TV runs the build in fully-juiced T16 maps and clears pinnacle endgame bosses. Boss routine: cast Frost Bomb, apply curse and mark, then spam the Scythe Spear to aggravate bleed — which aggravates the Infernal Legion ignites for a burst of single-target damage. Because damage-over-time and minion kills credit the player, a Rite of Passage can be slotted on a high-budget version.
