Overview
This is a full minion-army Witch that fields skeletons, specters, clerics, mages, warriors, reapers, snipers and an infernal hound, then walks through maps while the whole screen is shredded. The character builds none of its own damage — instead it scales the army through Master support, extra minion bodies, projectiles, protection and Pain Offering. The main damage comes from Specter Power Zealots, while the rest of the roster supports them, and because Master support rewards running many different minion types, the diversity itself increases everyone’s power.
The 0.5 patch makes this especially strong: minion scaling, spirit, energy shield and specters now stack together cleanly. The Infernalist ascendancy is the recommended pick because its spirit and energy-shield scaling lets you run a bigger army on a durable, energy-shield-based character — though the creator notes Lich and Oracle can run the same plan. The playstyle is deliberately simple: keep Pain Offering up, curse tough targets, and let the army do the work.
Beyond raw clear, the build is pitched as a comfortable, low-cost magic-find farmer — it can carry well over 150% rarity while still clearing smoothly, making it a strong currency-farming chassis.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Very simple gameplay — walk forward, maintain Pain Offering, let minions kill everything
- Comfortable, screen-wide clear plus strong, reliable boss damage
- Cheap and low-cost to get going, with a clear upgrade path
- Stacks 150%+ item rarity for currency farming without sacrificing clear
- Safe energy-shield defensive layer with Convalescence as a panic recharge button
Cons
- Many minion gem links to assemble and maintain, even if the moment-to-moment play is easy
- Damage is gated behind acquiring the right specters (Power Zealot / Chaos Zealot)
- Respecs are expected when transitioning from campaign into mapping
- Premium scaling items (Prism of Belief, Heart of the Void, Megalomaniac) get very expensive
Key Skills
- Specter Power Zealot — the primary damage, run with Pierce and Projectile Acceleration for clear; Chaos Zealot adds a second specter line
- Pain Offering — the most important active buff; keep it up constantly to empower the army
- Skeletal Mages / Reapers / Snipers / Warriors — the supporting army, all running Master + Feeding Frenzy + Minion Mastery for the diversity bonus
- Despair / Elemental Weakness — curse setup; switch to Despair once Rakiyata’s Flow is allocated to avoid the resistance-floor damage loss
- Sigil of Power (Chiming Staff weapon swap) — a boss-damage window dropped before engaging
Gear & Anointments
The main hand is a specter wand with increased spirit, minion damage, levels of all minion skills and minion cast speed; the off-hand focus stacks energy shield and minion levels. A Chiming Staff on weapon set two carries Sigil of Power for bossing. Across gear, prioritise minion levels, spirit, energy shield, resistances and enough attributes to equip everything. Unique boots that summon extra minions are best-in-slot (worth sacrificing movement speed or resistances), and Darkness Enthroned supports reservation efficiency. Amulet wants Essence Infusion early, upgrading to Worldwide Leader; cap elemental resistances first, then stack chaos resistance.
Endgame Notes
Scales smoothly from post-campaign into high-tier mapping. Each upgrade — more spirit, better specters, higher minion levels, more energy shield — simply makes the army larger, tankier and faster, while the rarity stacking turns farmed maps into currency.
