Overview
This Infernalist runs a full minion army — skeleton warriors, reavers, clerics, frost mages, storm mages and snipers, an Infernal Hound and two Zealot Spectres — and lets it clear the screen while the Witch walks behind it. Most of the damage comes from the Power Zealot Spectre; the other minion types add bodies, shock, projectiles and protection, and also make every Master-supported minion stronger because Master scales with the number of distinct minion types.
The pitch is simple, low-cost play with strong boss damage, comfortable mapping and room for over 150% item rarity. Energy shield is the defensive core, and Infernalist’s Spirit and energy-shield nodes let the build afford a larger army than other ascendancies. Lich and Oracle are mentioned as workable alternatives.
Gameplay is mostly positioning: stay near the army, keep Pain Offering active as often as possible, and curse tanky targets. Before Rakiata’s Flow, use Elemental Weakness and Frost Bomb; once Rakiata’s Flow is socketed, switch to Despair and stop lowering elemental resistance, because that becomes a damage loss.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Very low-intensity gameplay — the army does nearly everything
- Cheap to start, with clear upgrade steps
- Strong boss damage once Sigil of Power and Pain Offering are layered
- Can carry high item rarity while still clearing comfortably
- Durable energy-shield character with a panic-button recharge
Cons
- Lots of gem setups and minion types to manage and level
- Premium upgrades (Prism of Belief, Megalomaniac, Warlord Leader instil) get expensive
- Personal damage is close to zero, so minion uptime matters
- The passive tree expects a respec when moving from campaign to mapping
Key Skills
- Spectre: Power Zealot — main damage dealer, supported by Pierce and Projectile Acceleration
- Spectre: Chaos Zealot — secondary spectre with Overcharge, Master and Feeding Frenzy
- Skeleton army (Warriors, Reavers, Frost Mages, Storm Mages, Snipers, Clerics) — extra bodies, shock and buffs; most run Master and Feeding Frenzy
- Pain Offering — the key buff to keep up, with Magnified Area and Prolonged Duration
- Sigil of Power — cast from a Chiming Staff on weapon swap before bosses; Convalescence is the emergency energy-shield recharge
Gear & Anointments
Priorities are minion skill levels, Spirit, energy shield, resistances and enough attributes.
- Main hand — a sceptre with increased Spirit, minion damage, +minion skill levels and minion cast speed
- Off hand — a focus with energy shield, minion levels and resistances or attributes
- Weapon set 2 — Chiming Staff with +spell levels and cast speed for a bigger Sigil of Power; swap passives toward area and duration
- Unique boots for extra minions (best in slot; resistances or movement speed can be sacrificed); specific uniques to be confirmed against the source video
- Darkness Enthroned — uses socketables as though it were a helmet for reservation efficiency
- Amulet — Spirit, life, energy shield and minion levels; start with an Essence Infusion instil, upgrade to Warlord Leader
- Jewels — energy shield and minion damage or speed; Prism of Belief or Megalomaniac as late upgrades
Cap elemental resistances first, then push chaos resistance as far as possible.
