Overview

This is a high-end Twister build on the Mercenary’s Gemling Legionnaire ascendancy, running a spear for Twister and Whirling Slash. The guide starts with the creator’s earlier starter and day-one videos and follows the character to a level-97 finished setup. Twister carries the clear, and a large set of lineage supports and heralds scales it into late endgame.

Most of the damage comes from gear and support gems. Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder, Elemental Armament and cold/lightning exposure turn Twister’s spread into elemental damage. Gemling Legionnaire’s extra gem quality and slots let the build fit more supports than most characters, including lineage supports such as Rakiata’s Flow, Garukhan’s Resolve, Eonyr’s Thunder and Her Declaration.

The video also covers where the build goes past a normal finished character: a low-life variant, crafting an Aldur helmet, and a Voices jewel setup for more passives.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Twister clears the whole screen, and the build is aimed at fast map clear
  • Gemling Legionnaire gives the build more gem quality and more support slots than other ascendancies
  • The creator’s starter and day-one guides lead into this setup, so there’s a path from league start
  • Two PoB links are shared: the current setup and a later low-life version

Cons

  • The final gear is extremely expensive: Mageblood, Heart of the Well, Sacred Flame, Beira’s Anguish and multiple lineage supports
  • The low-life and Aldur-helmet steps are late-game projects with a lot of crafting risk
  • Many gems and buffs have to be managed, so the setup is complex to put together

Key Skills

  • Twister: the main clear skill, fired off the spear
  • Whirling Slash: sets up and feeds Twister
  • Herald of Ice / Herald of Thunder: chain explosions and add elemental damage while clearing
  • Elemental Armament / Cold Exposure: convert damage to elements and lower enemy resistance
  • War Banner and Berserk: buffs for bosses and harder content

Gear & Anointments

The final build uses a lot of top-end uniques. The creator’s PoB includes Mageblood, Heart of the Well, Sacred Flame, Morior Invictus, Beira’s Anguish, Chimeric Ruin, Split Personality, From Nothing, The Taming and a Voices jewel. The helmet gets an Aldur craft in the later low-life version. Weapon mods, jewel mods and the full passive tree are in the linked PoBs and the gear chapters of the source video. Budget players should follow the creator’s starter guide first.

Endgame Notes

The two PoBs show two stages. The first is the current character. The second switches to low-life after the Aldur helmet and low-life gear are finished. The video’s closing chapters explain which upgrades are worth buying once the core setup works.
