Strategy
Breach was reworked in Path of Exile 2 0.5, and the standard in-map Breach encounter is now one of the most reliable currency farms in the game. This method deliberately ignores the buggier Breach sub-mechanics (Breach Strongholds, Hive areas) and focuses purely on the normal Breaches that open inside your maps — kill the monsters, fill the bar, and farm the rare monsters that spawn at the end. The creator pulled hundreds of Divines this way without a single big lucky drop.
The whole strategy is powered by tablets. The key modifier is “Unstable Breaches spawn 1–3 additional rare monsters when stabilized” — stacking it across multiple tablets multiplies your rare spawns, and rares are where the value explodes. City areas are preferred because a fully-cleared Atlas lets you slot four tablets there instead of three.
Atlas Tree & Setup
Spec the Breach tree entirely toward rare-monster effectiveness (the rares that appear when an Unstable Breach completes). Take the Lavish Wisp/Womp Gift nodes for currency and the tablet-reward nodes over the flat 6% rarity. Save city/biome areas for the extra tablet slot. Target maps with 40%+ increased monster rarity (a community regex is linked in the source description); alch-and-go your maps, exalt up to full mods, then corrupt the rest for a chance at tier 16.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: high — fully-rolled tablets (3 extra rares + increased rarity) run 4–7 Divine each, ×4 per city map. Returns: ~2–5 Divine per map plus 20–30 currency Womp Gifts per 10 maps that convert to 5–12 Divine in the tree. The creator made roughly 300 Divine over a few days. It scales hard with a finished Atlas — do not attempt it on a half-built tree.
Step-by-step
- Fully spec the Breach Atlas tree (rare effectiveness + Lavish Womp Gift currency nodes).
- Use cheap travel/unique tablets to unlock city biomes; save the cities for maximum investment.
- Roll city maps to 40%+ monster rarity and slot four high-tier Breach tablets (3 extra rares).
- Run the map, complete every Breach, and collect the Womp Gifts.
- Spend Lavish currency Womp Gifts in the currency tree; gamble leftovers on the amulet/belt/ring trees for jackpot mods.
Risks
- High upfront tablet cost — a bad run can feel like a loss; the payoff is on average, not every single map.
- Several Breach sub-mechanics are bugged this patch; stick to normal in-map Breaches only.
- Requires a finished Atlas plus a character that can clear juiced T15/16 — not a starter strategy.
