Strategy

The Trial of Chaos is one of the steadiest divine faucets in 0.5, and it is underused precisely because most players find it tedious. The reason it pays is structural rather than lucky: clearing all ten floors of the temple always awards one of three pinnacle summon fragments, and all three currently sit in the same 8.3 to 8.9 divine band on trade. There is no drop RNG deciding whether a run was worth doing — completion is the payout.

The entry bar is lower than the reward suggests. The creator’s requirement is a character that can handle tier 15 maps that are not heavily juiced, with capped resistances, a real life or energy shield pool, and enough damage that ten floors do not drag on. If your character already clears a normal tier 15 without stress, this method is available today.

What makes it a farming strategy rather than just content is repeatability. The entry item is cheap and plentiful, the run length is predictable, and the reward does not scale with investment — which means your divine per hour is decided almost entirely by how fast you move.

Atlas Tree & Setup

No atlas investment is required. The Trial of Chaos runs off an Inscribed Ultimatum, which the creator buys on trade for well under 5 exalted.

The real skill of the run is the modifier choice between floors. Each floor offers a set of debuffs and you pick one, so the whole discipline is picking the ones your build does not care about. A Chaos Inoculation character takes the chaos damage option for free. A heavy-evasion character can eat energy shield penalties. An armour stacker can accept physical modifiers. Read your own defence layers before you enter and decide in advance which affix families are harmless to you, then apply that rule floor by floor rather than reading each offer cold.

Floor layouts and boss rotations vary between runs — see the source video for a full unedited run including the modifier picks.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: low — one Inscribed Ultimatum per run, under 5 exalted, and no atlas or map device cost
  • Returns: high — a guaranteed pinnacle summon fragment worth roughly 8.3 to 8.9 divine per completion, plus chaos orbs, vaal orbs and rares from the end-of-run reward chests. The creator’s observed average is 8 to 10 divine per run
  • Scaling: the only variable is run speed. A slow run with bad layouts takes 15 minutes, which is four runs and about 40 divine per hour. Experienced players finish in 10 to 11 minutes and push well past that

Step-by-step

  1. Buy Inscribed Ultimatums in bulk so you are never waiting on trade between runs.
  2. Before entering, check your defences and decide which modifier families you can safely accept.
  3. Place the Ultimatum and run all ten floors, taking the least harmful modifier at each offer.
  4. Kill the final boss. One of the three summon fragments is guaranteed to drop.
  5. Claim the reward chests at the end of the run, sell the fragment, bank the chaos and vaal orbs, and reset.

Risks

  • The ten floors are one continuous attempt. Dying part way costs the entry item and the time, so overestimating your defences is the main way this method loses money.
  • Layout RNG is real. The creator’s demo run drew the slowest and most annoying maps available and took 15 minutes rather than 10.
  • Fragment prices move with demand across the league. The 8 to 9 divine figure is a snapshot from the time of recording, so check trade before assuming the rate.
  • This is repetitive by design. It is a reliable wage, not a jackpot, and the creator frames it as the method you use to fund a better one.
