Strategy
This is a map-boss farming strategy built around stacking loot multipliers onto powerful map bosses and then triggering a single huge loot explosion on the kill. You target maps with strong bosses, juice them with unique tablets and shrine effects, and let the multipliers compound on the boss itself. It works in 0.5 because shrines have a chance to buff the map boss instead of you, and several unique tablets stack quantity and rarity directly onto boss drops. It suits mappers who enjoy a high-risk, high-reward loop and are comfortable picking up and crafting tiered gear for extra value.
The core idea is that the map boss becomes the payout: possessed by spirits, layered with shrine buffs, and rolled with extra loot modifiers, a single kill can drop a pile of tier-four and tier-five items plus raw currency.
Atlas Tree & Setup
The atlas tree is built to flood maps with shrines and beef up bosses. Key picks: Chosen Path (Shrines) for +100% shrines appearing, Overlord’s Influence (Shrines) so every map you enter spawns a shrine, and Journey Ahead (Effectiveness) plus Desert Mastery (Effectiveness) for extra boss toughness and quantity. Take Divine Blessing (Seeking Shrines) so shrine rarity can also roll onto the boss, Sacred Sap (purified→sacred spirits), and On the Wind (Spirit, or Osmeri Spirits if your character is slow). Round it out with Gedo Spycraft (Unforeseen Threat for anomaly reveals, plus the reworked Partial Translation now giving 0–40% tablet effect), Longer Days for +20% random extra content (shrines, strongboxes, essences, spirits), and Untold Histories for lineage-support find chance. Skip Breach and mostly skip Ritual — without tablets Ritual is a time waste here.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid — you need juiced maps (40%+ item rarity, ideally monster effectiveness too) and three tablets per map. Returns: ~3.1–3.6 divine per map on average without lucky drops (the creator’s 40-map run averaged ~7.1 div/map including a lucky Rakiata Flower and Rite of Passage). Scaling: scales with map rarity/quantity, citadel fragment targeting, and how much of the tiered gear you craft and sell.
Step-by-step
- Roll fully-juiced maps aiming for 40%+ item rarity (and monster effectiveness where possible) on bosses with powerful map-boss nodes.
- Apply three tablets: Season of the Hunt (boss hunted by spirits → idols + extra loot), Cruel Hegemony (extra loot modifier on the boss), and a rare Overseer tablet with increased rarity/quantity of boss drops plus an additional shrine.
- Enter the map and collect every shrine first — each has a 25% chance to buff the boss instead of you, and bosses can stack multiple shrine buffs.
- Clear side content (Abyss, citadels/anomaly for fragments and lineage supports), skipping Breach and Ritual.
- Kill the map boss last for the loot explosion, then pick up and craft tier-four/five bases (sleek jackets, good bow/quarterstaff bases) to multiply your take.
Risks
- Boss modifiers and shrine buffs are largely random — possessed bosses can become extremely dangerous demons, so you need the survivability to fight them.
- A big share of value comes from crafting tiered drops; without crafting knowledge your realized profit drops sharply.
- Headline div/map numbers include lucky uniques (Rakiata Flower, Rite of Passage) — expect closer to ~3 div/map on average runs.
- Delirium adds a lot of loot but its appearance is RNG and raises difficulty.
