Strategy
Breach is one of the most robust currency mechanics in Patch 0.5, and this guide treats it as a full endgame farming engine rather than a side activity. The money comes from rare Breach monsters: every rare drops raw currency (divines, chaos, exalts), and stacking enough of them per map turns into a steady flood. With a juiced setup you can push 30 to 80 rares per map across three or four Breach hands, and the rare Breach monsters are also where the high-value jackpots live — level 20 skill gems, catalysts, and tree-fuelled belt crafts.
Breach has roughly five distinct components: regular Breach hands (the bread and butter), Breach hives (a tower-defence event that is strong for hive blood and womb gifts), Breach fortresses (a juiced hive variant), the Breach mini-bosses (Tul and Ash, who drop Breach Lord sacks worth several divines each), and the pinnacle boss Xesht. Most of your income comes from regular Breach hands, with hives run for variety and crafting materials.
Atlas Tree & Setup
Breach has little overlap with the six big extra-content types, so the value comes from inside the Breach tree itself plus monster effectiveness. Effectiveness is the main lever: it juices rare Breach monsters, where all the currency originates. Take Shape the Chains for 30% effectiveness to rare Breach monsters — the other two nodes in that section are far weaker. On the womb-gift side, prioritise Lavish womb gifts (especially item level 80 to 82), which are significantly more valuable than the other three and can be sold to buy the others at a profit.
For map biomes, lean into desert and grass areas (and the Ezomite/Faradun cities that count as them) for the effectiveness bonuses, and take Industrial Improvements so city maps run a fourth tablet. Ashen spirits are a strong general juicing option in grass areas. For the master, Doriani (top-left box) is the reliable pick — monster effectiveness and rarity from explicit mods, an extra revival, and irradiating the map area so you bump base/area level without burning a tablet, which raises your level-20-skill-gem jackpot chances.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid — Breach stones are cheap and largely self-sustaining once you are rolling; the cost is in good tablets.
- Returns: high — raw currency from a huge rare count, plus jackpot potential (level 20 gems, refined catalysts, triple-digit-divine minion belts from the Genesis belt tree).
- It scales hard with effectiveness and tablet quality, and it pairs well with Delirium grand-mirror overlap for the truly juiced (but slow) runs.
Step-by-step
- Run three Breach tablets (four in a city), prioritising effectiveness on the prefix and rarity/rare-monster mods elsewhere.
- Hunt the “additional rare monster when stabilised” mod (it can roll 1 to 3) — at three or four breaches per map this multiplies enormously. The Besieged unique tablet rolls up to five additional rares.
- Blast maps to six mods; use chaotic-quantity omens to drop pack size in favour of rarity, monster rarity and effectiveness, then optionally corrupt.
- Walk into each Breach hand, clear to fill the bar, and kill the swarm of rares that spawn at the stabilise point.
- For hives and fortresses, add Breach stones to your bag and find the grey Breach biomes on the Atlas; run these for hive blood and womb gifts.
- Spend hive blood and womb gifts on the Genesis currency tree (chaos/divine birth nodes) or the belt tree (chasing +2 minion skill levels and minion melee splash for triple-digit-divine belts).
Risks
- Fully-juiced regular Breach can overspawn rares to the point they bug into walls — occasionally too much of a good thing.
- The grand-mirror Delirium overlap is lucrative per map but very slow per hour, and needs a high-damage or very tanky build.
- Belt-tree and currency-tree jackpots are gated behind hive blood, which is often the real bottleneck.
