Strategy

This is a low-floor raw-currency Abyss strategy aimed squarely at newer or low-currency players who want a reliable way to build their first stash. The core loop could not be simpler: run easy Tier 15 maps, force Abyss to spawn currency coffers, open the chests, and walk out with exalts, chaos and divines. There is no expensive setup and no complicated execution — clear the Abyss, open the chests, kill the boss, move on.

It works because the 0.5 Abyss reward tablets and Atlas tree let you stack currency-coffer chances cheaply, and because rarity on the map directly boosts currency drops. A secondary benefit comes for free: since this strategy doesn’t need Citadels, you simply explore outward, mark every Citadel and Jade Island you pass, and clear them whenever you like for big bonus currency.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Tablets: The one mandatory tablet makes Abyss pits and maps twice as likely to have rewards — this is what makes the currency coffers appear. Optionally add “chance to contain four additional abysses” and “maps contain abyss” (cheap, least required). Combine with increased item rarity, which is cheap and worth it since rarity affects currency drops.

Map: A 6-mod Tier 15 map. High rarity is preferred but not required; a 5-mod map with one fewer Abyss tablet is fine if your build is weaker.

Abyss choices: Take Ulaman (“Ulaman may have currency chest” via Strange Aversions — this is what makes the raw-currency chests spawn), and the node that scatters more Abyss pits throughout the area. The Abyss quest line should be fully completed before juicing.

Atlas tree: Prioritise every Rogue Exile node (they can be consumed by the Abyss for free Abyss Jewels) and every Strongbox node — only the Research Strongbox is worth opening, and it can be alched/exalted up for divines. Grab the water-biome node for +15% chest currency (Abyss coffers count as chests, and all Citadels are water biomes). Specialist masters: Partial Translations and Unforeseen Threats (which reveals Jade Islands).

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: Low — one mandatory tablet plus a cheap rarity combo and a 6-mod map.
  • Returns: Steady raw currency (exalts, chaos, divines), the occasional Abyss Jewel, plus a guaranteed ~1+ divine per Citadel you clear on the side. A great way to turn 5–10 divines into your first 100–200.
  • Difficulty: Low — even a 6-mod T15 is comfortable here.

Step-by-step

  1. Fully complete the Abyss quest line and your Atlas tree before juicing.
  2. Slot the mandatory Abyss-reward tablet (plus optional Abyss/rarity tablets) on a 6-mod T15.
  3. Run the map: clear all Abyss, open every currency coffer, kill the boss.
  4. While exploring, right-click to mark any Citadels, Matriarch/Patriarch halls and Jade Islands you pass.
  5. Clear those marked side objectives whenever you want for bonus divines and fragments.

Risks

  • Returns are raw and steady rather than explosive — no jackpot uniques here.
  • Requires the Abyss quest line and a reasonably complete Atlas tree to hit full value.
  • Citadel/pinnacle fragments are bonus only if your build can clear those fights.
