Strategy

This is an Expedition rarity strategy built on top of heavily deliriumed city maps. The core idea is that a map’s first Expedition is a sacrifice: you clear the weaker of the two encounters purely to stack runes, and the second Expedition then detonates under an enormous rarity multiplier. Motoheedy runs it as the main currency strategy of the 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event and reports Headhunter-tier drops out of it.

Delirium is the chosen map layer rather than Sacred Bloom. Both were tested, and 200% Delirium came out ahead — partly on raw output, partly because it costs no extra time on the map compared with setting up a forest instance. Boss rushing maps with three Delirium tablets carrying the mirror-shard modifier is what builds toward a Grand Mirror at the end, since collecting shards raises that chance directly.

Cities are the venue because they allow four tablets instead of three. Cities sitting near each other far from the starting point make the rotation practical; free tablets for the Delirium stack come from a cheaper side strategy such as Breach or Hive farming.

Atlas Tree & Setup

On the general Atlas, take effectiveness of rare monsters first, then increased rare monsters in forest areas. Biome mapping matters for that choice: mid cities are swamp, wall cities are forest, and Faridun cities are mountain. In the Expedition-specific tree, take every node that increases Veridian Remnants along with the quality-of-life nodes for Expedition encounters.

The master is Doryani. The important picks are the corrupted waystone node for an extra map modifier, the node giving Veridian Remnants a 10% chance to roll an additional time, increased effect of modifiers on tablets, and increased exceptional items found.

Tablets are four Expedition tablets with the main modifier: Expeditions have a 35%+ chance to contain an additional Veridian Remnant. These are not expensive. Preferred secondary modifiers are increased rarity of items found and increased monster rarity, to push as many rare monsters onto the map as possible. Waystones should be stacked for monster rarity and run at tier 16, corrupted — craft them or buy them on trade.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid — four Expedition tablets plus a 200% Delirium stack and corrupted tier 16 waystones per map
  • Returns: high — the second Expedition on a juiced map drops an unusually large volume of items, with Grand Mirror chances layered on top from the mirror-shard route
  • Scaling: returns rise with rune quality on the first Expedition and with how much monster rarity the waystone carries

Step-by-step

  1. Farm cheap tablets on a low-cost side strategy (Breach or Hive) until you can stack 200% Delirium on the target maps.
  2. Pick a cluster of cities so four tablets apply, and slot four Expedition tablets with the extra-Veridian-Remnant modifier.
  3. Roll or buy tier 16 corrupted waystones with as much monster rarity as possible.
  4. Set the Atlas to rare monster effectiveness plus rare monsters in forest areas, and take every Expedition node.
  5. In the map, find both large five-explosive Expeditions and run the one with the worse remnants first.
  6. While detonating it, pick as many different runes as possible — runes do not stack, so variety is the point. Opulent is the priority find, then Power, Bass and Bound, then Time, Odds and Reverse; reroll the rest.
  7. Run the second Expedition with the stacked rarity and collect.

Risks

  • Tier 16 corrupted maps with heavy monster rarity and 200% Delirium are genuinely dangerous; a character that cannot handle deliriumed rares will lose the map investment
  • The tablet and waystone cost per map is real, so a run of bad remnants means a loss rather than a small gain
  • Solo Expedition encounters contribute nothing to the rarity stack and can be skipped, though they occasionally drop something worthwhile
  • The creator notes that wisp strongbox farming is stronger right now but expects it to be removed at launch — this strategy is the more durable of the two
