Strategy
The 0.5 follow-up patch stacked a second buff on top of the previous Expedition rework, turning it into one of the most profitable farms in the league. Three things matter for currency farmers: GGG added a dedicated Expedition Atlas tree, a Verissium sink (Liquid Verissium) that rerolls remnant encounters, and bonus expedition map mods on Grand Expeditions. Crucially, runic monsters now correctly scale to rare with increased monster rarity and rare chance, so juiced Grand Expeditions spit out far more rare monsters, bases, and currency. The core loop is to park in the ocean section of the Atlas, run Grand Expedition maps under irradiated tablets, and blast the travel maps between them with a Delirium splinter-farming overlay.
Atlas Tree & Setup
Unlock the new tree by killing the Expedition bosses (start at the Ruins of King’s March; the quest chain hands you the next book each time). Recommended priorities:
- Filling Lucky first — it unlocks buying Liquid Verissium from Pharaoh, your one-click remnant reroll.
- Quest-continuation node giving Grand Expeditions +1 area level and up to 3 extra mods.
- Biome choice for your ocean/island areas (affects travel nodes too): Desert mastery (effectiveness, item quantity, extra rare monsters in packs, double-effectiveness rares) or Grass mastery (effectiveness) are the front-runners. Forest and water are situational.
- Extra explosive over extra remnant — reach is the real bottleneck.
- Log book quantity per runic modifier plus the buried 24-point node that grants a flat ~60% increased Expedition log book quantity.
- Strategic Advantage keystone — chain continues at 50% monsters killed (faster, and avoids bricking the chain on an unkillable spawn).
- End branch: 10% chance for an additional Verissium remnant for ocean farming and 25% increased chance of expedition encounters for land maps. Take the Power Rune chance (25% chance remnants count as power-runed) over the quantity-per-mod or XP options.
For tablets, irradiated Grand Expedition tablets want exactly four prefixes: increased effectiveness, item rarity, rare monsters, and monster rarity. Quantity of waystones also works; additional random suffix mods are an optional sicko-mode add. Master setup: Unexpected Missions (extra mods), six-mod corrupted maps, Eastern Knowledge (remnant reroll chance), Partial Translations (averages ~20% more tablet value), and Keen Appraisal as a filler.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid — irradiated tablets, Liquid Verissium (600 Verissium each from Pharaoh), Delirium tablets, and corrupted maps · Returns: roughly 3–7 divines per Grand Expedition plus Simulacrum splinters from travel maps, with jackpots (Alder Saga, perfect flux, the rare ~200-div Alder’s Legacy) on top · scaling: stacks hard with monster rarity correctly applying to runic monsters, so more juice compounds directly into rares and currency.
Step-by-step
- Set up the Atlas tree as above and unlock node access by clearing the Expedition boss quest chain.
- Pick your ocean-section biome (Desert or Grass) and stock Liquid Verissium for rerolling weak remnants.
- Roll irradiated tablets for effectiveness, item rarity, rare monsters, and monster rarity, and drop them on the Grand Expedition maps.
- Roll travel maps between expeditions with Delirium tablets (increased Simulacrum stack size plus mirror shards/fragments) and fly through them.
- Always stop for the expedition at the end of each travel map — the Delirium juice carries onto it.
- Reroll bad remnants with Liquid Verissium, place your explosives to reach the most valuable nodes, and detonate the chain; the final Verissium remnant gives a rarity-stacked payout explosion.
- Collect Simulacrum splinters (remember to turn off the mirror first), then chain to the next Grand Expedition.
Risks
- Liquid Verissium had a launch bug (since hotfixed) that could burn huge amounts of Verissium — watch for similar edge cases.
- The additional-runic-modifier and power-rune options make monsters much tankier and more dangerous; only push them if your build can handle it.
- Buried Ambition remnants are inconsistent — don’t bank on their advertised value.
- The increased-expedition-encounter node is worthless inside the ocean/Grand Expedition area (encounters are guaranteed there); only useful on land maps.
- Returns are based on early-patch observation over a handful of hours and may normalize as prices settle.
