Strategy

Lineage support gems — Rakiata’s Dance and Garrick’s Resolve — are among the most valuable drops in Path of Exile 2’s endgame, trading for 100–180 Divines each during 0.5. Rather than dedicating a dedicated farming loop, these gems are best treated as a bonus layer stacked on top of your existing Atlas strategy: explore the Atlas, identify the special Anomaly map tiles, optimise those specific runs to maximise boss drop odds, and collect the massive windfall when RNG cooperates.

Two map variants matter. Sacred Reservoir (revealed from Temporal Sanctum) drops Garrick’s Resolve, and Jade Isles (revealed from Eye of the Storm) drops Rakiata’s Dance. Sacred Reservoirs appear to be rarer — expect to find them two or three times as infrequently as Jade Isles during normal Atlas exploration.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Two Atlas nodes are mandatory before running these maps: Memories of the Marrath and Memories of the Kurui. Each grants a 15% chance for the Anomaly map boss to drop an extra Lineage support gem, totalling a meaningful uplift over baseline. Do not attempt these maps without these nodes unlocked.

For the master, unlock Jad and complete his full quest line to obtain the Untold Histories node (+35% chance to find Lineage supports). Pair it with Partial Translations (20% chance to double tablet modifier effects) — together these two passives are the only master nodes worth prioritising for this strategy.

Optional exploration aid: the Doryani master line provides Hidden Patterns (10% chance on map completion to make nearby maps accessible), letting you cross the Atlas quickly without being geographically locked. Grand Project unique tablets offer equivalent connectivity for around 2–3 Divines each if you prefer not to run Doryani maps.

Investment & Returns

Core costs are low. You need tier-15 Waystones alch-exalted then corrupted to chase high Waystone drop-chance rolls (aim for 120%+; 135% is excellent). Three tablets with increased quantity of Wastelands found in map (up to 40% each) are the primary investment — these are inexpensive. The optional Visions of Paradise unique tablet (~7 Divines in 0.5) doubles your runs on a single Anomaly map tile, which can be worthwhile given the gem prices but is entirely optional.

Returns are lottery-style: a successful boss drop nets 100–180 Divines for a single item. Because the strategy layers on top of regular play rather than replacing it, the effective investment is minimal — you are simply optimising the Anomaly maps you discover naturally.

Step-by-step

  1. Unlock the Memories of the Marrath and Memories of the Kurui Atlas nodes before running any Anomaly maps.
  2. Complete Jad’s quest line and spec Untold Histories + Partial Translations.
  3. Explore the Atlas in a consistent direction, running whatever league mechanics suit your build. Watch for Anomaly map tiles — Temporal Sanctum tiles have a sandstorm visual overlay; Eye of the Storm tiles show a small hurricane/tsunami pattern.
  4. When you find an Anomaly map, prepare a tier-15 Waystone with 120%+ Waystone drop chance (alch → exalt → corrupt to fish for high rolls). Slot three tablets with Wastelands quantity modifiers.
  5. Optionally replace one of the three regular tablets with a Visions of Paradise to run the map a second time.
  6. Clear the map boss to trigger the Lineage support gem drop chance. With Memories nodes and Untold Histories active, your odds per run are meaningfully improved.
  7. Continue Atlas exploration and repeat whenever another Anomaly tile is discovered.

Risks

This is fundamentally an RNG-dependent drop chase. There is no guarantee of a gem drop per run — some players have found 15+ Jade Isles without seeing Rakiata’s Dance. Prices can also drop significantly if the league population saturates supply. The Visions of Paradise tablet is a sunk cost if the second run also yields nothing. Accept the variance before committing Divines to the tablet.

Note that this strategy was tuned for Patch 0.5; Anomaly map drop mechanics or gem prices may change in future patches.
