Strategy

Simulacra were reworked in 0.5 and are now one of the most rewarding delirium activities: a consistent source of valuable currency with a genuine jackpot on top. Each run drops a Raven’s Reflection (80% one, 20% two), which on its own roughly pays back the cost of the Simulacrum, so even a dry run rarely loses money. On top of that, Simulacra drop an unusually high share of high-value liquid emotions such as Potent Liquid Ferocity and Ancient Potent Liquid Contempt, plenty of valuable bases, raw Divine Orbs, and occasionally Voices — worth hundreds of divines at two sockets and many mirrors at four.

The method suits players with a solid endgame build that kills bosses quickly and can move while dealing damage. Most of the fighting happens in a compact area, so there is little running around compared to normal mapping.

Atlas Tree & Setup

  • Take the whole Delirium atlas section. The Recurring Nightmares keystone should spread fog to extra maps, because more maps at 100% means more Simulacra.
  • Key nodes: shards spawning between waves (extra difficulty and rewards), a 20% chance to pick multiple shard options, a chance for a second Simulacrum on conversion, and a chance at Megalomaniac jewels.
  • Run eight-mod maps. Pick Doryani rather than Jado, since tablets do not work inside Simulacra. Take Stitch the Flesh for an extra revive, plus Evolutionary Pressure and Improved Calibration for monster effectiveness, map mod effect and rarity.
  • Disengage Safeties still raises the Simulacrum to monster level 80 at the time of the video.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid — delirium tablets, maps and Simulacrum splinters, plus a strong build
  • Returns: high on average, with a very high jackpot ceiling (Voices, top-tier emotions)
  • Scales with how fast you kill bosses: more Apex Predators bosses means more chances at potent emotions

Step-by-step

  1. Run maps with delirium tablets until Grand Mirrors appear nearby.
  2. Clear the Grand Mirror map, kill the boss pair at the end, then choose an area to cover in delirium fog.
  3. Keep clearing maps inside the fog; connected maps become more delirious, and at 100% one converts into a Simulacrum.
  4. Use a Simulacrum item (from splinters gathered in the mirror maps) on a fully delirious map.
  5. After each wave, pick Apex Predators if your build kills bosses fast — unique monsters killed in fog can drop potent emotions. Pick Pure Emotions if you are weaker; avoid Escalating Threats.
  6. Keep moving constantly, hunt down the unmarked Apex Predator bosses (prioritise Geonor), and loot the reward pillar at the end.

Risks

  • Map mods carry into the Simulacrum; avoid chilled ground and stacking damage multipliers
  • Escalating Threats can effectively turn an eight-mod map into a fourteen-mod map and gets builds killed
  • Bosses spawned by Apex Predators are not marked and are easy to lose in visual clutter
  • Returns swing a lot; some runs only pay back the Raven’s Reflection plus a divine
