Strategy
This is a meta tier list of the best currency-farming strategies in PoE 2 patch 0.5, ranked S through D, to help you pick a farm that fits your build, budget, and atlas rather than copying one that only looks good on paper. The big takeaways: speed and density win in 0.5, low-entry farms that scale are the safest picks, and a lot of hidden profit now comes from crafting and ground-loot bases rather than only raw drops.
Atlas Tree & Setup
The tier list is mechanic-agnostic, but the recurring setup advice is consistent: stack monster effectiveness, rarity, rare monsters, and quantity through Irradiated tablets, push map density, and clear fast. Crafting-based farms (breach-ring crafting, ground-loot bases) lean on market knowledge instead of atlas investment.
Investment & Returns
- S tier — Abyss Rogue Exile (cleanest low-investment all-rounder), Highblood ring farming (huge if you know which rings to chase), Ritual (cheap, scales with rerolls), Breach quantity (needs a strong fast build but prints currency)
- A tier — Expedition, pure Lockbox farming, Breach-ring crafting, Ground-loot crafting (item-level 82 bases)
- B tier — Shovel/landmark travel, Map boss, Citadel fragments, Trial of Sekhema, Essence
- C tier — Jewel tablet (RNG/price sensitive), Delirium (laggy, speed-dependent), Boss farming, Gold gambling
- D tier — Chaos trial (outdated/slow), Wisp farming (too slow for 0.5)
Step-by-step
- If you’re broke or starting out, run Abyss or Ritual — both start cheap and scale.
- If your build can blast, force Breach for density and currency.
- Mid-game, layer in Expedition and lockbox running for stable returns.
- Once you understand the market, add breach-ring and ground-loot crafting for a high ceiling.
- Avoid the D-tier slow farms (chaos trial, wisps) if pure currency/hour is the goal.
Risks
- Tablet and logbook prices move fast — farms like Expedition, Essence, and Jewel-tablet swing in value day to day.
- Crafting-based A-tier farms have a huge ceiling but punish poor market knowledge.
- Density farms (Breach, Delirium) demand a strong, fast build or they feel terrible and deadly.
