Strategy
This guide is about turning the waystones and tablets you already pick up into a steady currency stream — both rolling them to run and recognising which rolls are worth selling rather than burning. The core insight is that modifiers in Path of Exile 2 are far less lethal than in PoE1: most builds can handle most map mods, so map difficulty scales mainly with how many mods you stack, and that difficulty buys you rarity, pack size, monster rarity, monster effectiveness, and waystone drop chance in return.
It is a low-investment, knowledge-heavy method: the currency comes from spotting the high-roll waystones and tablets that other players are paying premiums for in the current market, which shifts week to week depending on what strategies are popular.
Atlas Tree & Setup
No special atlas tree — this is a crafting-and-selling workflow layered on whatever mapping you already do. Tooling matters more:
- A price checker with a built-in waystone/tablet regex system (the creator uses Scalpel’s PoE2 section) to filter your stash by the mods you want to keep, sell, or avoid.
- A stash tab dedicated to maps you can regex-search through.
- Trade-site searches you rebuild often, since the valuable thresholds move as the meta changes.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: low. You are rolling waystones and tablets that drop for free; the only spend is the Exalts/Chaos/Vaal to roll and corrupt them.
- Returns: mid and steady rather than explosive. Example thresholds from the video: a Tier 15 waystone with ~140 drop chance sells for ~200+ Exalts; ~50 monster effectiveness can fetch a Divine; high ritual-tablet rolls (extra favours, omen chance, tribute-cost reductions) can be Divine-tier.
- Scaling: the more maps you process, the more high rolls surface — corrupting your full stash of six-mod maps regularly is what generates the sellable tail.
Step-by-step
- Take your waystones to max six modifiers, then corrupt them — outcomes include eight-mod maps and Tier 16s (~1 in 8), both more rewarding; Tier 14 downgrades get saved as cheap travel maps.
- Roll all maps to the highest tier your character can actually run; dial back difficulty only if you can’t clear it.
- Use a regex to filter out maps with mods your build can’t handle (e.g. less cooldown recovery) so you keep only runnable ones.
- For selling, build trade searches for each valuable axis — pack size, rarity, monster rarity, effectiveness, drop chance — and find the current price thresholds before listing.
- For tablets, prioritise ritual rolls: extra altars/favours (divinable), increased omen chance, reduced tribute/reroll costs, and “additional random modifiers”; roll over low-value mods like “reappearing sooner.”
Risks
- Market values are a moving target — what sells for a Divine this week may be worthless next week, so re-check thresholds before listing.
- Corruption is a gamble: you will roll Tier 14 downgrades and unrunnable maps alongside the upgrades.
- Selling waystones and tablets is time-consuming and listing-heavy; for many players running the maps yourself is the better use of time.
