Strategy

This guide covers catching high-value Tame monkeys in the 0.5 endgame, with the goal of rolling the best possible modifier combinations on them. The core idea is volume: rather than chasing rare four-modifier monkeys, the method leans on spamming large numbers of three-modifier monkeys so the best-in-slot rolls eventually surface. Because three-modifier monkeys can be produced in bulk far more easily than four-modifier ones, they end up being the more reliable path to a genuinely strong companion.

The modifier tier list drives every decision. Extra Crits sits at the top, especially for early-to-mid game characters, where it roughly triples damage; it stays useful into late game even though it can later be replaced once crit chance is stacked on gear. After that comes Extra Damage, with Extra Chaos and Extra Lightning prioritized over Cold and Fire because they pair well with resistance-shredding tools. Enraged is treated as the standout multi-stat passive, granting increased damage, increased skill/action speed, movement speed, and reduced damage taken. Tier-one auras (extra physical, haste, invulnerability) and defensive passives like Magma Barrier are bonus rolls rather than targets.

It suits players who already have an endgame atlas and some currency to sink into tablets and Pokeballs, and who want a powerful minion-style companion without expecting a guaranteed result. Landing two top-tier mods is considered GG endgame; three is the dream.

Atlas Tree & Setup

The farm runs on forcing river/rupture-type maps onto the atlas and pathing them into Ritual via the head-of-the-king reset, using Doriani as the relevant master and terraforming to multiply map availability. The creator forces roughly 15 to 20 monkey maps daily and speedruns each in one to two minutes. Specifics of the exact atlas passive layout and the terraform/pathing tech are covered in the creator’s earlier videos and should be confirmed against the source.

For the early game (before Ritual is unlocked), there is a revival reroll setup: take a rare map with two tablets, use Doriani for three revives, and intentionally die at the monkey boss (without killing it) to reset the monkey’s modifiers. Later, a six-modified rare map with one Doriani revive plus a deliberate death gives an extra reroll. When using the full Ritual method, players can skip most of the Ritual pathing and spend the head of the king on the monkey map alone to save time. Bringing two Pokeballs / Tame Beasts matters: at the final wave several monkeys can spawn at once, and a pause-and-swap trick (pause via a passive hotkey, socket the caught monkey, swap in a second Beast) lets both be captured.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid — Returns: scale with volume and RNG · three tablets run about 1.5 divine and last roughly 10 maps; head of the king runs about 1 to 1.3 divine; full ritual pathing for 10 maps costs roughly 3 to 4 divine and yields about 8 to 15 monkeys. A friend/host ritual on the monkey map alone costs one head of the king plus three tablets (about 1.5 divine per map) for three to five monkeys. Pokeball/Tame Beast stock is the hidden cost — the creator sank over 100 divine into Beasts alone.

Step-by-step

  1. Decide your method by budget: early/low currency runs the revival reroll (rare map, two tablets, Doriani three revives, die at the monkey boss to reset mods).
  2. Buy tablets during off-peak hours (CN/US/EU asleep) where prices drop 20 to 30 exalt; stock up while cheap rather than buying at weekend peaks near 90 to 100 exalt each.
  3. Each morning, path the atlas to force 15 to 20 monkey maps, then speedrun them one to two minutes each, taking river/rupture starts for double monkey-revive chances.
  4. Use the head of the king to reset pathing — never finish a wrong path, since completing it consumes the head of the king; stop and reset if the layout is wrong.
  5. To save time, skip the rest of the ritual pathing and spend the head of the king only on the monkey map (three to five monkeys instead of five to eight). Only run the full ritual when at least two river/rupture maps start the path.
  6. Carry two Pokeballs / Tame Beasts; on multi-monkey waves, pause via your passive hotkey, socket the first catch, swap in the second Beast, and capture again.
  7. For the friend/host method: the host opens river/rupture maps (you supply the tablets and six-modified maps), stays in the map so they keep atlas completion, and you weaken your own supports (keep only minion splash) so you don’t one-shot the monkey while unable to pause.
  8. Disenchant weaker catches and keep refining toward two, ideally three, top-tier mods.

Risks

  • Mod outcomes are pure RNG: extra crits alone is roughly 1 in 15 to 30 monkeys, extra crits plus one extra damage is closer to 1 in 30 to 50, and a clean three-good-mod monkey can take 100-plus runs (some players hit 300 runs with no perfect roll).
  • The market cost is real and volatile: tablets swing between 10-20 and 90-100 exalt, and total Pokeball spend can exceed 100 divine over a long farm.
  • It is a daily time sink — forcing maps in the morning and farming at night to average roughly 100 monkeys a day.
  • The 0.52 nerf made six-modifier monkeys and full-city catches far rarer and less consistent than before.
